Really dirty room with blood stains on the floor, bed and ironing board. Reception refused to provide any compensation. Awful service

The recent heatwaves have been so horrible that one I knew I needed to go to hold for the night booked this hotel purely because of it advertising air conditioning. I'd also requested a quiet room, which the person who checked me in noted and my reservation. What I got, however, was a room where the air con was preset to only go down to 19 and kept cutting out - requiring me to keep turning it back on. Despite repeatedly doing this, the room was still much too warm and uncomfortable for me and opening as the window wasn't really an option as it was warm and sticky outside, plus it was noisy from people out in the courtyard. The worst part, however, was the incredible disregard of the way I was treated both by the person on duty behind the desk and the duty manager. The former actually hung up the phone on me and instead of apologising, the latter suggested that I find a different hotel at 8 pm (and also made a very rude comment about people from the country which they wrongly assumed that I was from). After having travelled many hours to get to Brighton that morning, then working and only checking in that evening, I was so exhausted, upset and angry that I went back to the room (which both staff said was perfectly cool despite my saying it wasn't) only to find horrible old blood stains on the duvet and a headboard that looked like someone had scraped some of the material off. There was, however, one bright note - which was the excellent breakfast buffet.

I stayed here for three consecutive days. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and coffee/tea packets were replenished. You need your key card to operate the elevator, which is a nice security feature. Like many other hotels in the UK, it's more expensive on Fridays and Saturdays. The hotel is close to attractions and supermarkets.

Service was superb, staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Very close to station and plenty of shops around for food and amenities, abit of a walk to the seafront and attractions but overall, good location. Highly recommended!

Really lovely stay, they checked us in a little early and helped with a delivery which was so useful. The room was really nice, comfortable beds. We even had a warm welcome from one of the locals when we got to the room 😉 Location very convenient but you don’t notice any notice from the station. Easy to walk to all the main spots

Lovely staff Simona checked us in early gave us a disabled room which had a bit more room but had a shower over the bath as I work with the disabled wet room would be safer climbing into the bath can be dangerous especially for a disabled person. Lovely room clean, very surprised it did not have a fridge which is standard in a 4 star you need look into this Ac was good decor fabulous just like the ones in London. Bar and reception area relaxing and pleasant was disappointed they did no have any baileys in stock , so went to a bar down the road to celebrate. Great breakfast just need a live cooking station for omelettes which again is 4 star standard. Would stay here again but if I wanted to save money, would pay more and book the Leonard Royal down at the seafront as each room has a fridge which is 4 star standard especially in this weather. Didn't take any pictures as the hotel is lovely. Thank you I still had a fabulous time
