Hotel Lodewijk Van Male

Beautiful historic hotel. Our group comprised of 3 adults and a 4 year old. This hotel deserves more of a higher rating than what it’s reviewed for. Our accommodation was very modern and clean. The gardens were spectacular. A special mention must be made of the breakfast, which had a beautiful spread. The breads were fresh and delicious. They even provided us with gluten free options at request. The host was very kind, thoughtful and accommodating. It was a short drive away from the Christmas markets. Would love to return.

It was a really nice experience for the price. The grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely pond in the back. The rooms were a bit run down but the beds were fine. The bathrooms were also surprisingly clean. Breakfast was simple but tasty, especially considering it was included.

STAY AWAY!!! I was unable to attend due to the unforeseen circumstances that were completely out of my control. Hotel said a manager would call back (they never did) hotel were very rude on the phone and very unwilling to help. Would not reschedule and would not refund anything. I wish I had read the reviews before booking. Don’t make the same mistake as me and read the reviews

Disgusting!!!! Incorrectly put a wrong date in and emailed within 3 minutes to change. He ignored email and eventually spoke by phone to him. Refused to change date but happily took our money. Don't go there very unethical.

a classic hotel with a beautiful garden to light up your day.

We needed a one night stay in Bruges and this hotel just outside the city worked perfectly for us. You will need a bike, car, or taxi to get into the city. It is too far to walk. There’s no one working the check in desk, but when you ring the bell, someone comes within a couple of minutes. Check-in and check-out went smoothly with no issues. The grounds in the back are spectacular and there is a nice walking path around the pond. It is such a beautiful setting. The room we stayed in faced the gardens in the back and away from the street. Toilet & shower room were your typical smallish European style. Soap & shampoo were provided. Our booking included breakfast which was very impressive. We sat at our own cloth covered table. The food and beverage buffet was top notch. It included eggs, bacon, multiple cheeses & bread, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, and orange juice. Also fresh croissants and pain chocolate. We will definitely stay here again the next time we find ourselves in Bruges and would recommend it to others. Overall a very nice stay.
