City Hotel Mátyás

The facilities are very tired. The stairs leading to reception are cracked and broken in places. The second floor of the hotel was being painted and the actual hallway floor leading to our room was covered with black plastic with paint splatters. One would assume you would close that area until the painting was completed. The upholstered armchair in our room was soiled. The shower door would not close properly as the door rollers were off track. While the location in Budapest was great we would not stay here again.

Great location. Very good breakfast. Kind and helpful staff. Hotel could be a little bit updated, but it’s ok. ☺️

Location is amazing, stuff nice and breakfast was delicious... only thing which I didn't like was wifi, which was not working.

The hotel is in an old building very close to the river and to the main attractions. However is in a bad estate. The rooms are well spacious, but the building is very strange. It seems improvised. The team is very sympathetic and well educated. The breakfast is in the fourth floor and is fine. It was a good experience in the end but I would look for better options.
