The Florin hotel in Budapest was excellent as was the location. Area 6 is well located to the Jewish quarter and the bohemian area. The hotel is 10 min walk to St Stephenâs church. Trams stop right outside the hotel and main metro station is less than a 10 min walk. For over 65s public transport is free, but is cheap anyway and so easy to get about. Attila, Balint and Lori at reception were great ambassadors for Budapest and the hotel - helpful and friendly. The rooms spacious with a little kitchenette and good bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.
I was supposed to stay for three nights at the MP Hostel in Budapest; but left a couple of hours after I checked in. I arrived in the hostel before the check-in time; thus requested to leave my suitcase while awaiting check-in. Receptionist David just told me, âYou can put it in the storage room.â He did not even show me where the storage room is. I had to find the room myself. Mind you, David was not busy at that time. He was just chatting with a friend in the reception area. When I finally checked in the hostel late afternoon and went to my room, I noticed that the room was very cold. I opened the heater knob; and waited for more than an hour. No changes; it was still very cold. I then went to the reception; and informed receptionist David about this. He was in the reception, indeed, just talking to another hostel staff Daniel who is apparently the hostel F&B manager. He casually told me, âOpen the heater valve.â To which I replied, âI did that more than an hour ago; but it's still very cold. Perhaps you can accompany me to the room; and we can both check the heater.â David answered, âIt's not my job. I'm the receptionist; not the technician... and the technician is not here. Wait for your room to get warm.â I said, âIt's been more than an hour since I opened the heater; but the room never got warm at all. If it's not your job to address the heater problem, then who can help me fix this? Can you at least transfer me to another room with a working heating system?â After David called up someone and checked the available rooms, he finally agreed to move me to another room. While I was at the reception waiting for my new room to be ready, I was talking to a friend on the phone to express my disappointment. When David said that my room was ready, I hung my phone up right away; and was surprised when he said, âIâM A F*CKING RECEPTIONIST. THE HOSTEL MANAGEMENT PLACED ME HERE BECAUSE I SPEAK ENGLISH. CHECKING THE ROOM OR THE HEATER IS NOT MY JOB.â I replied, â Where did the 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST' words come from? To be clear, I never addressed you a 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST.' â I said these sentences at least twice, to reiterate my point. Without knowing the context of the conversation because he (Daniel) was playing a video game on his phone, F&B manager Daniel suddenly charged at me, kept on pointing his right index finger at me, and raised his voice, âDon't you dare disrespect my friend and call him 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST' OR ELSE...â I then said, âI didn't even call David a 'F*CKING RECEPTIONIST.' Go ask him.â When David agreed that I did not call him that, I then went inside my new room which was still very cold. Heater in the new room was not working. Again. After all the negative experience at MP Hostel Budapest, I decided to leave right away; and found another private room in a hostel nearby. Zero customer service. Aggressive. Threatening. I hope the hostel will improve on its customer service, and value its guests.

One of the most budget friendly accommodation in the city! It is in a very strategic location where it is just few meters away from bus stop and metro train station. It is also just few bus stops away from famous tourist destinations. It is near grocery store and vodafone where you can buy a sim card (tip for tourists). Rooms are clean and well maintained. They have self service washing and drying machines, common kitchen and bathrooms, common lounge area, vending machines and many more. This place is wheelchair friendly as well for those who need them. Service wise was great as well. I would commend Thomas from reception for being helpful especially when we arrived from airport at 2AM. Overall, we enjoyed staying here. It is truly a great value for money.
Stayed 5 nights for a conference with 3 other colleagues. Quaint hotel that looks its age. Had very friendly and helpful staff handling check in/out. Had taken a suite, but it was rather small. Main door opened into an anteroom with 2 internal doors - 1 of which led into bedroom (just enough space for a double bed with 2 small side tables). The other door led into a small living room (space for dressing table, couch, TV, and a small round table with a chair). Bathroom is a little dim. Breakfast buffet had standard ham and cheese cuts, scrambled eggs, breads, cereals, fruits - repeated daily. Noticed the staff change the cutlery after each dinner, but the placemats on the table is not changed. Location is excellent with nearby train and bus station leading to all major attractions. Also have supermarkets nearby.
The hotel is very beautiful and modern and the staff very welcoming. not knowing the city, they do not hesitate to advise me on places to visit and explain to me how to get around with public transport. The room was very comfortable and modern corresponding to all my expectations. The only small negative point that I could cite is the restricted opening hours of the restaurant and the bar. Taking into account the neighborhood (8th arrondissement), I would have preferred to eat at the hotel than to have to go out or order. In summary, a great stay and can't wait to come back!
ibis Budapest Centrum hotel is located in the center of the financial, cultural and commercial district of Budapest. Our 126 recently refurbished modern and fresh air-conditioned rooms, including 1 for disabled guests, are ideal for business or leisure travelers, as it is within easy access by public transport and by car. Restaurants, shopping centers and sightseeing buses are immediately close by. The hotel has indoor parking and free WIFI access. We look forward to welcome you in our hotel.

Excelent place to stay close to everything plus Metro and the rooms are enought to sleep and having breakfast with good quality. The staff is quite good and very friendly and spend the correct attention to details. I recommend this hotel for travelers since they can by walk give a turist view of all the important places (I try to do it everytime I'm there)

The location of the hotel is great. A big bonus is that it has many parking spaces and they are all free. It's also pretty close to the city center. We used a car to get around and it was extremely easy, but you might struuggle a bit if you're using public transport. The hotel is close to Budapest Arena, so it's a great choice if you're going to an event there. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and they have a big variety of options. Staff was lovely as well and they actually chaged our room from a double bed to a twin, on request. It doesn't look like a 4* hotel anymore, everything is a bit old and rundown.
My dear friends, this post is going to be about one hotel in Budapest near the airport. Generally my stay was for couple days and it was not bad. However, the location of the hotel was not so close to the airport and anyway you have to take a taxi. The building and design inside is stucked in beginning of 2000 years. It is need to be updated with fresh and new one furniture, to be honest. But, in general rooms are quite big and there are enough space. I stayed in the room with balcony even. It was clean and smelled good, what is really important. Breakfast buffet line provides guests with fresh meal and wide range of snacks, fruits and pastry. Once for dinner I have choose burger with sweet potato fries - it was tasty and a lot. Here you may find the ping pong table to play and sauna and jacuzzi as well. Only because of service and people who is working there I gave âvery goodâ mark, because staff was always friendly and tried to do their job professionally and kindly according to the guests. If owners would renew this hotel and create the resort it will be really great hotel to stay.

Outstanding
GGuest UserOne of the best stay I ever had. The hotel has a fantastic atmosphere, the breakfast it's really good and has a great variety of food, the attendant's team is almost perfect, expect for the bar in the evening, the rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need. I found a very nice surprise for woman, beside the hair dryer there was an hair straightener. Very hepfull! The SPA was clean and excellent atmpsphere. I foundall service I would like to have. We didn't try the restaurant, but I saw people dining when in Budapest all the restaurants don't accept you anymore. I really felt cluddled!
GGuest UserThis was our first time in Budapest and this hotel was the perfect location, just a block from St. Stephens Basilica and walking distance to everything. It was sparkling clean, had friendly staff and was everything we needed at an affordable price. We paid the extra small fee for the breakfast which was an easy way to start the day.
GGuest UserThe location is perfect, right and one of the shopping streets where you can walk to a lot of the attractions. The hotel has 2 exits where one is open 24/7 where the reception is and where you can be dropped off by taxi. The other is on the shopping street, closing at 22.00 because it is also where the hotel restaurant Winestone is located. The restaurant has a good variety of food and very friendly and diligent staff which goes for the whole hotel. The breakfast is not served in the restaurant, but on the 2. floor. It has eggs, bacon, bread, cheese, ham, cereal, yoghurt, small pancakes, fruit, a little bit of vegetables. Could have liked the hot food to be hot, it was seldom the case. The room was nice with safety deposit box, coffee/tea, 1 bottle of water each day, mini bar and shampoo + shower gel and hair dryer. The room was cleaned spotless every day! The room becomes a bit hot and it helps to open the window. Right now there is construction going on, so you don't want the window open while they work. In the ground floor there is a fitness room with a good variety of equipment. The front desk staff is very helpful. We used the cleaning service for having some shirts ironed. That worked very well.
GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located very close to public transportation. The tram is right across the street and the Metro station just a short walk away. You can also walk across to the other side of town where all the stores and restaurants are by using the Chain Bridge. However the bridge was closed for pedestrians last month, not sure if it is now open. Our room was a good size and we had a beautiful view of the Danube river and the Parliament. The small balcony outside our window needed to be cleaned though, as there were spider webs everywhere. Realized that after I stuck my head outside to look at the view.. You can also look outside the window in the hallway when you get off the elevators. It has a nice view of the castle at night. Bathroom was fine, there was a nice bathtub with a nice shower but I found the bathtub very high and it took me extra effort to climb in and out. Never had that problem before but for some reason this tub was not easy to climb into. The breakfast had many yummy choices. There were not many changes in what they offered everyday, but still they had many choices and also many different coffees you could prepare on the machine. Front desk staff were cordial and one young man in particular was very helpful with everything that we needed. I don't remember his name but he was in his 30s I believe with a goatie. All in all we enjoyed our stay! The only thing we wished is that this hotel had a pool, but oh well!
GGuest UserWe had a reasonably sized 1 bed appt. From other reviews I was worried about noise and bad behaviour of groups of tourists but this is a block of 90 apartments and only 24 are tourist rentals. Others include a number of people with the title âDrâ so they are not riffraff, if you know what I mean. Our stay so far has been very quiet. Almost no noise from inside the block. It's the centre of a city so there is road noise etc but the windows are triple glazed so keep the noise out very well. Lift and corridors are all v bright and well cleaned. The area is touristy to some extent with loads of good value eating places including a very popular Hungarian restaurant where you need to book called Getto Gulyas. The area as a whole used to be the Jewish ghetto so the huge synagogue is close by but that meant that the are as a whole is quite run down in appearance. I think that makes it a much more interesting feel than some of the more renovated areas. This apartment block is new enough that it's not shown on Google satellite. Apartment was very clean and well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. Everything you need for cooking on holiday. Furnished exclusively from Ikea by the looks of it but it felt new and not worn out. Bed is comfortable and on the firm side. So far the is absolutely nothing of any significance wrong with the apartment. Maybe we have been lucky by not being near a stag party. But we've only seen one about town in our stay so far. From our experience we would recommend.
GGuest UserWe loved our 5 night stay here, we opted for a 1 bedroom apartment. We were amazed at how big, clean and well equipped the apartment was (there were even a couple of laundry pods to do washing if you wished). The staff at reception were really welcoming and happy to help giving great advice. Location is fantastic as close to all the main sights with the metro, tram and bus stops at the top of the road. Close to some brilliant restaurants like Mozel Tof, Ghetto Goulash and Pork and Prezli (make sure you book) Really handy that the direct airport bus stop is just a 5 minute walk too. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again if coming to Budapest.
GGuest UserLarge room, large shower but the water had probably a lot of limestone and other irritants so much that my girlfriend and I became blond at the end of the holiday, and I suggest to male available some eye drops because the eyes after the shower immediately became very reddened and swollen, as an Italian I really appreciated the presence of the bidet, lack of privacy because we had two windows that didn't even close completely and we had only one transparent white curtain available, and that was a passage area and everyone could see us inside. We thank the honesty of those who welcomed us and warned about the possibility of receiving unexpected visits: âthieves and clochardsâ and for safety they also wrote it inside the room, just right on the wall indicating the exact point from which they would enter. Good luck!
SSZUCHIEHNo kettle and refrigerator. It is close to the station and the tourist area, and the subway station is at the door, which is convenient for travel. But the room facilities are relatively simple. It is the third floor in a building, and the elevator is relatively old. But the price is really reasonable, and one night stay is ok
YYanxiawanzhaoBecause of the price, this house is still relatively cost-effective and can cook. Wifi will not be used at the beginning, and it will be used correctly and the speed will be very fast. We are here to travel, the house is located in the bustling seventh district, convenient for travel.
