as a colonial building it's quite impressing but unfortunately i became very disappointed at the management and a few other things. the personell at the breakfast and at the bar were very friendly and the same goes with the chamber maids. so, nothing bad about them, the contrary. first i was giving another room then then the one i booked but it was changed to the right one but unfortunately it was very noisy and was woken up at five o'clock in the morning but could change to a quiet room. the hotel was not fully booked due to the season. unfortunately, the bathrooms were supercold as the windows are shutters and cannot be fully closed. downstairs at the lobby etc the internet was very poor and sometimes it was very difficult to get the wi-fi working. BUT the worst thing was that my laptop broke due to a table that collapsed and i got liquid on it and i had to use the mobile but once again, the internet was weak. the management said during several days that they would deal with the laptop, but nothing happened and i was told to fix it in cape town, i had to stay an extra day but the that was paid by the hotel but still i had expenses that i didn't really wanted. i was promised a refund for the informed the repair but unfortunately the laptop was beyond repair. i then informed the hotel and asked for a compensation but i still haven't received ANY REPLY from them witch i find very bad! first, they say that they take full responsibility as the tables are old but then total silence. if something is broken, they definitely should keep their promise! the follow up due to the broken laptop, as promised and for being a 4-star hotel it's missing quite a few things. internet is a must, butter to the breakfast should also be a natural item, when the sunday roast happened we were shuffled from one place to another and so on. and 3,5 later i still haven't heard from them...
