"I had a really nice stay here — it felt like a genuine tea village experience. The area is beautiful, with lots of great hiking routes nearby, so it’s perfect if you enjoy spending time outdoors. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the bed made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. I also had a small private balcony where I could enjoy afternoon tea with a mountain view, which was such a peaceful daily ritual. The host speaks good English and was very kind and helpful, going out of her way to support me even when she didn’t have to. That thoughtfulness made the stay feel extra welcoming. I’d happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic getaway."

"It's like living in a forest, with acorns constantly falling from the trees. The hotel is very clean, with virtually no mosquitoes. The room facilities are all excellent, especially the toilet flushing, which isn't too loud. Special praise goes to the hotel staff; their service was exceptionally good from check-in to check-out. They provided afternoon tea with fruit platters, nuts, and tea; offered ginger soup and ice packs if you had a cold; and promptly came to your room to help with any issues. The hotel only offers vegetarian food. I tried it once, and it was quite good and creative. Compared to the Black Pearl Hotel (averaging 1000 RMB per person), it's definitely not quite as good, but it's much better than other vegetarian restaurants in temples. Every ingredient was very fresh, although there were some issues, like the watermelon in the complimentary fruit platter being sweet and the blueberries being extremely sour. If you don't want vegetarian food, the surrounding farmhouses are a good option, offering fish, chicken, stir-fries, etc. I randomly picked a few and none were bad. The hotel also arranged various courses, including a healing class and Baduanjin (Eight Pieces of Brocade). Lying in a cabin surrounded by trees and feeling the breeze on a platform by the forest river was a truly therapeutic experience! I stayed for two days and there were still many courses I didn't get to try, so I'll make up for them next time! I'll consider bringing my parents next time."

Our rooms are designed in a refined, minimalist Chinese‑style, offering quiet elegance; open the window to reveal a hundred acres of tea fields, and enjoy spotless comfort with fully equipped amenities. Conveniently located near West Lake and the city center, it combines easy access to urban attractions with the peaceful retreat of the hills, making it the perfect choice for spiritual pilgrimages, leisurely escapes, and rejuvenating relaxation.

"The host was extremely nice and the stay was very comfortable, surrounded by tea plantation. It is also very near Lingyin temple. But the day we arrived, we realised that the traffic leading up to the hotel was closed for taxis and e-hailing vehicles to enter. We had to get off the cab midway and took a bus with heavy luggage to get to the hotel. We were not informed about this prior. The host was very nice to pick us up from the bus terminal nevertheless. The traffic rules made it very difficult for us to go out of that area as the nearest landmark we could get an e-hailing car was 5km away. We had to take the bus to get out of the area and the bus was traveling at snail speed due to the heavy traffic. For those who wants to be around the botanical gardens or the lingyin temple can stay here. Otherwise, the location is not ideal. We did not do things in our Hangzhou itinerary due to the bad location. There was no metro nearby as well."

The facilities are complete, and I really like the furnishings in the lobby on the first floor. Every corner is beautiful and makes people happy. I came here during the Longjing tea season. The front desk lady was warm and thoughtful, and gave a very detailed guide to the tour, which was great! The surrounding environment is so beautiful, the mountain climbing is refreshing, and the water is full of spring ~ I hope to stay here once a year, ”Meet you again in the season of falling flowers”!"

Hotel near West Lake, Lingyin Temple Scenic Area,Hangzhou
Where the West Lake Breathes, and Time Slows Down Tucked away in the western hills of West Lake, at the foot of Lingyin Mountain, Fanjing Inn nestles quietly at No. 286 Baile Bridge, Lingyin Branch Road, Xihu District. Hidden between ancient temples and emerald forests, this tranquil retreat offers a rare escape from urban clamor—where the only sounds are babbling streams, birdsong, rustling bamboo, and the whisper of pine in the wind. Built into the gentle slope of the hillside, the inn opens directly to the Lingyin Scenic Area. Within a short walk lie Lingyin Temple, Yongfu Temple, and Taoguang Temple—making it an ideal base for those drawn to Buddhist heritage or the hidden corners of West Lake. The name “Fanjing” (凡境) reflects a quiet philosophy: “True depth can be found in the ordinary.” Rejecting ornamentation, the inn embraces humility and harmony with nature. Walls of soft plaster, warm timber, linen textiles, and hand-thrown ceramics create a palette of earthy calm. Spaces are airy and thoughtfully sparse—never empty, always peaceful—inviting stillness without silence. Guest rooms cascade gently down the hillside: some cradled by a murmuring brook, others nestled among bamboo groves, many opening to mountain views. Every window frames a living painting—shifting with the seasons, glowing at dawn, deepening at dusk—turning each stay into a silent conversation with nature. Here, time seems filtered through leaves and stone. Awaken to temple bells and flowing water. Read beneath courtyard trees in the afternoon sun. Stroll along Baile Bridge at dusk as golden light spills through the canopy onto mossy flagstones. On rainy days, listen to droplets on banana leaves and eaves—a melody that has inspired poets for centuries. Fanjing offers no grand services, only quiet gestures of care: a cup of Longjing tea, a wisp of sandalwood incense, a shaded corner where you can simply sit and watch clouds drift over the peaks. These are the small openings the inn leaves for your mind to breathe. The Baile Bridge hamlet itself is part of the West Lake Cultural Landscape—a place once favored by reclusive scholars and still marked by unpretentious mountain charm. Though removed from traffic and noise, it remains close to the spiritual pulse of Lingyin and the misty allure of the lake. To visit Hangzhou is not only to see West Lake—but to live within its rhythm. Fanjing Inn makes no claims, seeks no spotlight. Yet in its quiet presence, it holds the vast beauty of mountains and waters, and the delicate dreaminess of Jiangnan. May your stay here offer a pause from the world—and a return to clarity, calm, and inner peace.

"The inn is located in the scenic area, very close to Lingyin Temple, 10 minutes walk, and it is very convenient to eat, there are many restaurants around. The room is clean and tidy, the facilities are complete, the proprietress is also very talkative, a very good stay experience, next time you come to Lingyin Temple, you will choose to live here."

"There is a beautiful little courtyard with a small tea room inside. The green of the south is so fresh. The lady boss speaks slowly and softly. The route is very clear. Just follow the navigation. Two or three cars can be parked at the door. There is a steep slope, so be careful. The room is Chinese style. The B&B is quite large. The interior is clean and tidy. I like the bed with curtains. The cleaning lady is very kind. Oh, there is a tip. The floor mat at the door of the bathroom is easy to retain water and will slip. It is recommended to use a non-slip silicone floor mat. B&Bs in Hangzhou are blooming everywhere. Green Sleeve is right by the West Lake, facing Hupao Road, 1 km to Su Causeway. I ran around the West Lake in the morning, just 10 kilometers. I had breakfast in the store and drank a pot of tea. In the afternoon, I went to eat vinegar fish, see Leifeng Pagoda, and go to Xiaoshuguan."

"Come to Hangzhou and want to let go, the experience of living here is great! Very quiet and leisurely, the boss is super good, warmly invited to drink tea, the tea craftsmanship is also superb, I drank super delicious tea, I missed the breakfast time late, and I will prepare breakfast. It's not as humane as the commercialization outside. The location here is also very good, walking to Yunqi Bamboo Trail, there are tea gardens on both sides of the road, the scenery is very good, there are direct buses to Lingyin Temple Faxi Temple or West Lake, which is very convenient. The homestay has a small layout of the boss everywhere. The room window view can see the tea mountain. Even if you don't do anything, the tea mountain outside the window in the room is super happy.
