"I stayed in both the main building and the annex, and the annex offers significantly better value for money than the main building. All facilities are shared, and I highly recommend the hot spring. I spent the first night in the main building and the second in the annex. Before arriving, I saw pictures with a Syrian-style aesthetic and mentally prepared myself for something run-down. However, I actually found the annex, with its Japanese-style design, to be superior to the main building and more suitable for younger guests. The only drawback was the overly rigid front desk staff. After checking out of the main building, I seamlessly processed my check-in for the annex, but still had to wait until 3 PM to get the keys. Also, on the night of my check-in, I could hear a group of Korean girls chattering loudly on the public balcony downstairs from my room on the second floor; they kept talking until past midnight."

"I've been wanting to visit Shirahama for almost 10 years, so I picked this onsen resort, rumored to be among Asia's top 11. For Japanese onsen hotels, all-inclusive is a must! However, my overall experience was just so-so, probably because I've stayed at so many Japanese onsen hotels before. It definitely boasts an unbeatable sea view; I booked a garden view room, and when I tried to upgrade to a sea view at check-in, the front desk attendant said none were available. Yet, when I entered my room, I could still see the ocean! The sea view here isn't as breathtaking as in Izu. From Shirahama Station, there's no shuttle, so we had to take a taxi, which was about 2500 yen. The most impressive part of the hot springs here is the co-ed open-air ocean view bath – the scenery is truly incredible! The food was only decent, incomparable to what we experienced at Kusatsu Onsen, Yamato no Sato in Izu, Lake Kawaguchiko at Mount Fuji, or even Gero Onsen. The staff weren't particularly enthusiastic either. There were a lot of Chinese tourists, some from Hong Kong and Macau, but very few Japanese tourists, mostly elderly ones. This onsen hotel seems to be a popular spot hyped up by Chinese travelers! If you're only visiting Kansai, Shirahama is definitely worth a trip. But if you're going to other parts of Japan, it might not be worth making a special journey for."

"I had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shirahama for a relaxing getaway. First off, the location is fantastic. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and after taking bus #12 from Shirahama JR Station, you get off directly at the hotel. The hotel staff are very welcoming and were at the entrance to help with luggage – super friendly! Across the street from the hotel is Shirarahama Beach, which is stunning whether it's cloudy or sunny. The white sand paired with the blue ocean is a real treat for the eyes. Shirahama is very quiet at night, and shops close early, but within a five-minute walk, there's a FamilyMart, Lawson, and a 24-hour supermarket. So, if you need snacks or drinks, these are great options. The hotel also has a microwave on the first floor for heating food. You can even buy fireworks at the supermarket to enjoy on the beach. Room: The room was very spacious with plenty of space and directly faced the beach. During my two-day stay, I spent time just relaxing in the room, watching the sunset, observing people on the beach, or heading downstairs to cross the road and lie on the beach or play in the water. It was incredibly relaxing for both my mind and body. The room had both a bathtub and a shower. The bathtub was right next to the balcony, so you could soak while enjoying the view. The hotel also has indoor hot springs, but unfortunately, I couldn't use them. Service: Most of the staff were middle-aged men and women, very kind and gentle. There was also a Chinese-speaking girl with a particularly soft voice who always greeted me with a smile. The service was excellent. Although breakfast was the same every day, it tasted quite good. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would definitely choose Sanrakuso again if I come back to Shirahama."

Renovated and reopened in December 2023! A memorable stay at a hot spring inn that will revitalize you both physically and emotionally

"The room is very big, with great views and is very quiet. It is located close to Shirahama Station and the seafood market. The bus to the door is a 10-minute walk. The road is a bit dark at night. It is very convenient to take the bus to the beach and the Three Broken Walls, but the waiting time is too long. There are not many places to eat around. There is a pretty good ramen restaurant near the bus station. I suggest you either go back to the hotel after eating or book dinner at the hotel. The hotel actually has a shuttle bus that can take you to Shirahama Station. You just need to make an appointment with the front desk in advance, which is great. It's a bit inconvenient that you can't take a shower in the house, you can only go to the hot spring, but the hot spring is open from 6 to 9 in the morning. If you get up late, you may not be able to take a shower. We didn't dare to try it. A full meal for two people at the seafood market only costs 300 RMB. To go to Nachi Taisha Shrine and Kumano Kodo, you have to calculate the bus and Kuroshio Current time. It is still worthwhile to go there and back in one day. It is much more convenient than Kii-Katsuura. I stayed here for four days and three nights. I went to different places every day and came back to soak in hot springs to relieve fatigue. It is very cost-effective. By the way, Conan fans will feel very good."

"The Chinese boss and the little girl at the front desk were also Chinese and provided us with very good service. They drove to the station and saw that we were still waiting for the bus, and gave us a ride to the fish market. They also helped us check out delicious places in the evening, allowing us to stay in a foreign land. I feel warm and the service is great! The hotel is on the beach, and the family room has 4 single beds, which is very good. The convenience store is right opposite. There was no breakfast available during the time we went, so it was very convenient to buy something to eat! There is a large local Japanese supermarket Gourmet City within 50 meters, where you can buy fireworks. The freedom of fireworks on the beach at night is a great happiness for children in the city! The roast pork shop run by an old lady next door is a treasure shop, with good value for money and good taste. There is no need to queue up to join in the fun. Like it, I will come again next time!"
