Perfect Location, very picturesque with dramatic Lakeland scenery. Good walks on your doorstep, nice pub in the village.

Stayed for 2 nights, super time. Helpful staff. Room was nice. Didn't try the food as I go self catering, but from comments made by other guests it was good quality

We had a fantastic weekend trip, ideal location for exploring this stunning place, beautiful big house with lots of space for 40 of us plus 3 dogs. The lady who checked us in and took me around at the start of the trip was so lovely, my son is autistic and she was amazingly patient with him, massive big thank you from all of us

This place is such a hidden gem. It is such a shame to think so many people dont know it exists. We just had a lovely nights stay in a landpod. Few little electricity issues with the landpod but patient, friendly staff who were apologetic and proactive sorted it out. Food was great and the a**osphere was really nice! Mildred thr sheep tried to have a conversation with me at 3am outside the landpod door which was actually quite sweet 😅. This is one of my favourite places to be. We will be back!

Set in a beautiful location, not far from the lake and village, and surrounded by the mountains. The hostel is accessible by bus and you can take many pleasant bus rides through the Lake District from here. However, it is the help we received from the staff (as is the case at all YHA hostels I've been to) at this hostel that really stood out during our stay. After realising we would be unable to continue our journey to another nearby YHA hostel, the staff were able to accommodate us at YHA Buttermere for the remainder of our trip. In general, the staff are very friendly, polite and give excellent customer service. The YHA is a wonderful organisation with a great mission and history. They deserve to be more well known.

This hostel is in the most stunning location. There are so many walks right on your doorstep and the area is fantastic for swimming too. The staff are fantastic and so helpful, they work hard and the hostel was very clean. My room was lovely with a view looking out to Great Gable. I really didn't want to leave. See you again next year!

All the usual facilities you get at YHA - friendly staff, great self catering and catered options, good bedrooms. Showers are slightly dared but the view from the lounge is fantastic. Good WiFi if that important to you. Short walk into Buttermere for the lake access and couple pubs if you fancy a different menu

We didn't really know what a landpod was but they are fantastic - in a small space there are different levels and compar**ents making it feel spacious and uncluttered. They have light and power. The best part was falling asleep listening to the wind in the trees and the sheep in the field across the lane, and feeling the hint of a fresh breeze on my face as I snuggled under the duvet. I slept really well.

We used the camping area at the hostel which was very affordable and quite sheltered in the trees, although not very flat. The hostel staff were welcoming and happy to help us with the washing machine. Having use of the hostel's kitchen, drying room, showers and toilets was great. The only things I had issues with were the WiFi which kept disconnecting or saying I am unable to join, and the kitchen could use with some oven gloves and some more baking trays.
