The location is great, right by the port, making it super convenient for island hopping tours. The room was quite spacious and had a balcony, which was lovely for enjoying the breeze and views. However, the facilities are a bit dated. The breakfast was Western style and quite basic, definitely not quite up to the usual Hilton standard.

The room was quite simple and comfortable, with all the basic amenities, including a bathtub. The balcony offered direct sea views, and the location was excellent. The pier for boat trips was right next door, and there were several restaurants along the pier boardwalk, like Dundee's Restaurant. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise – much better than expected, with a wide variety of options including Asian cuisine, and it changed slightly every day, which was great. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for maintenance during my stay. For kids, they provided a welcome amenity kit, and after collecting stamps, they even gave a lovely mini Kookaburra doll as a gift. Overall, it was a very good experience!

I really enjoyed my trip to the Hilton. I had great room service and a really lovely comfortable stay and the best sleep I’d had in ages. There was a lovely tropical garden in the foyer outside my room.

A decent five-star hotel. The room was spacious and even had a balcony, perfect for enjoying the refreshing sea breeze. It's located right in the city center, making it convenient to get anywhere – Cairns itself is quite small, so you can easily walk to most places. A taxi from the airport to the hotel was around 25 AUD.

The hotel is really close to the boats for sailing, but otherwise, it's just okay. However, I had the cheapest Japanese meal of my trip there. The hotel's own restaurant food was good, and the popular influencer restaurants nearby were also decent.

Excellent location, right near the pier, just a 4-minute walk away. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. It's a resort-style hotel, perfect for a good rest after a tiring day of activities.

For this price point, I truly feel it's an incredible value. For four people, including meals, you couldn't find a comparable hotel in China for this price, not to mention the exchange rate difference. The hotel's location is excellent; the view from the restaurant is stunning, perfect for taking great photos. It's also less than a 10-minute walk to both the night market and the pier. This is hands down the best value-for-money hotel I've stayed at in Australia.

Location is great, room is great with the sea views. Coffee area in the hall is great. The front desk needs a bit training. We were charged for $50 deposit but was not refunded yet after in 5 days. We have been chasing this but no result yet.

We stayed in an executive room on the eighth (of nine) floors in mid-July.  The executive lounge was generally poorly stocked and food and drinks often unavailable with no staff around for over a couple of hours at a time. We were here for seven nights, so have a reasonably good time frame to judge.  The swimming pool is surprisingly frigid in July, actually unpleasantly cold when there was any kind of breeze or cloud cover.  The bathroom shower drainage was not ideal: every short shower resulted in puddles on the bathroom floor; long showers meant the whole floor was covered in standing water.  Every time the neighbors used the spa or coffee machine, the noises were very loudly transmitted into our room.  The balcony was very nice and the wicker furniture comfortable.

The location is ideal. Near to everything you need to visit in Cairns, Great Barrier Reef wharf, water park, restaurants, museums. When you have to get up early to meet your tour schedule, location is the key. Very friendly staff. Room is clean with amazing water view. Breakfast buffet offers a wide range of choices. Although in view of the age of the hotel, it has little tears and wears, 4 stars service and comforts are something we are looking for, instead of some fancy golden decoration in the hallway. We definitely will come back when we visit Carins.
