Baron Hotel Cairo

Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: Plenty of dining options nearby. Service: Excellent, warm, and sincere. Egyptians are very sociable.

The room was clean and hygienic. Although the facilities were a bit old, it didn't really bother me. The breakfast was incredibly rich and exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff and waiters were all very friendly and could even speak a little Chinese.

The location wasn't ideal. The hotel service was pretty standard, nothing special. No drinks included with dinner – you either eat without or pay extra at the buffet. One tea bag costs 150 pounds.

For Egypt, the environment here is quite good. There are restaurants downstairs and on the rooftop, though they are pretty expensive. There's also a palace nearby, which is a small attraction (I heard it's free).

I don't like to criticize, but for the price paid, I would have expected excellent service and a thorough, detailed cleaning. Starting with the bathroom, there were women's hairs, definitely from previous guests, drain odors, and old infrastructure. If I had seen pictures of it, I definitely wouldn't have stayed here. Luckily it was only for one night, as the air conditioning didn't work, and even when off, the room was freezing. If you're thinking of staying here, the only positive is the view of Baron Castle; otherwise, it's best not to arrive with high expectations.

Overall, it was a decent stay, but I really can't agree with the efficiency of the staff. The room cleaning was done quite well. However, the bathroom was clogged, and despite reporting it for days, nothing was done. My friend left their wallet in the room, and it took four trips and speaking to the manager to finally retrieve it. Each time we went, they made us wait, and we'd end up waiting for half an hour. It was quite frustrating. The breakfast, however, was commendable.

I've already left a review.
