Iberostar Club Cala Barca All Inclusive

Just returned from an amazing trip to Cala Barca. We’ve done many holidays abroad with our kids (now 12&14) and this was by far the best experience. Loads of pools to choose from, which are spotlessly cleaned daily. Lots of food choices and soft drinks, cocktails and mocktails to enjoy whilst you’re soaking up the sun. The hotel staff and eateries staff work tirelessly to ensure the resort is clean and tidy, with a great selection of food. 4 restaurants to choose from and 1 chicken and chips van - which was a brilliant idea! Lots of fun with an app that shows you the scheduled activities. Some for adults and some for children. Gym and shops on site so you really don’t need to go off site. The animation team work tirelessly to ensure the children are entertained. Great to get together with everyone at night to enjoy bingo, quiz and then the main entertainment. The room was clean and spacious but we were situated on the blocks opposite the main resort so a 10 min uphill walk…but an opportunity to walk off all the food you consume! Maybe needs better lighting to avoid any slips and trips. Beach access or a little walk away are more spectacular beaches. Golden sand and clear blue sea. You can catch a bus into the local towns and marinas for a little change of scenery. Well done team Cala Barca. 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not the best holiday we have been on & quite disappointed with it being a large chain. We arrive to be told the room wasn't ready to come back at 3pm...we go back at 3pm, still not ready not great when you have a 2 year old. 3.45pm room is allocated taken round to it in the golf buggy which is great as it is a huge resort and we were quite a bit from the main area. Room ok at 1st glance quite a few squashed bugs on the walls)...look outside & the balcony has ants, close the bathroom door & a cockroach comes out. Phone reception to be asked do we want to pay for an upgrade ! Said no as the room is not adequate we need to be moved (2 year old who wants to go outside....can't as the ants will come in & can't leave the door open & let a 2 year old play outside with ants ! Told we can't be moved tonight to the same type of room but someone will come with bug spray for outside, they come & spray & leave the spray as we are told the bugs will come back. Can't settle and go to reception to say we will pay for an upgrade to be told €45 per night ‍♀️....was told on the phone €35. Pay the upgrade reluctantly and we are given the price for 6 nights instead of 7 as a goodwill gesture - which ok was nice but we shouldn't have had to stay in a room that had bugs ! Back to room after dinner & notice the door doesn't lock (not the safest with an inquisitive 2 year old)...maintenance come to fix the door (move the plate the lock goes in to) and the door locks but opens when the pulling of the handle - again not safe when having a 2 year old in the room. It states it is beachfront but in my opinion its a cove so don't go thinking there will be a massive beach. Also states its 700m from Cala Mondrago, we walked it & it was at least a mile to get there. The national park areas (close by) are very rugged with a lot of rocks & tree roots, not really suitable for a 2 year old and definitely not for a pushchair If you are staying in blocks 11 or 12 be prepared for a treck every breakfast, lunch & dinner to be able to eat The entertainment is good but very loud so if you have a child who doesn't like loud noises maybe invest in a pair of ear defenders....we watched the entertainment from our balcony but it was still very loud up where we were The main restaurant is ok, there is a few choices as long as you like fish or pork....kids choices were basically pasta, pizza or chips with an occasional chicken nugget (lunch & dinner). Be prepared Fri-Mon of the main restaurant being packed out & extremely noisy as I think a lot of people book long weekends here (it was definitely busier these days the week we were here) The food truck chicken & chips was nice, more a popcorn chicken Loads of sunbeds & umbrellas but the pools were freezing despite the weather being 23-24 degrees & no clouds Transfer time (not peak season) is 2 hours as its not a direct transfer so be prepared for that (we weren't told that upon booking with a travel company) Some of the rece

Just back from a great week at Club Cala Barca. The facilities are great for families and adults, with an endless agenda of entertainment for all. The complex has lots of swimming pools and great areas for kids (we travelled with a 4 and 2 year old and both loved the slide and kids pools). Food was really good, with a choice of four restaurants for lunch and dinner, and lots of bars and snack stations around the site. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and were always saying "ola" to our children and giving them high fives which they loved! We upgraded on arrival to a central room (block 52) and whilst the location was amazing and so handy for grabbing food and drinks, a warning that it's very very noisy!! The ground floor hosts two restaurants and the noise associated with running these seemed to run almost 24 hours a day. We were woken early morning (4/5am) everyday to deliveries arriving. Whilst I appreciate this needs to be done, it would be good to give guests a heads up before they pay for an upgrade that the room is going to be very noisy. Only final issue, and more to be aware of with children, there's lots of staff cars parked up in between pool areas and hotel rooms so it's a bit of a hazard when walking between locations. I was surprised to see so much staff parking right in the middle of the complex and meant you had to be much more aware of traffic moving around than other all inclusive resorts where that would be located in a "behind the scenes" location. Overall, a really fun week at Club Cala Barca, with something to do for every age and traveller.

Great first impression when turned up then from there it just went downhill, Room wasn't ready till 3pm that was fine went to the pool area, very good kids area we had a 3 and 4 year old travelling with us, finally the room was ready we got in a golf buggy started travelling quite away from the main hotel to find a tower block, we was on the top floor and with no lift which we thought with this isn't going to be fun with 2 tired children everyday. Got in to the Room very tired and basic looking Rooms no way was this 4 star, we tried to ring reception to see if there was any Rooms on the ground or first floor avaliable to find the phone didn't even work. So we walked back up to reception about 10-15mins walk, spoke to reception and they were helpful and said nothing we can do today but when one comes avaliable we are happy to move you, Ok great! They rang my mobile and said in two days they have ground floor avaliable and it was in the block closer to the main hotel, brilliant! The day came they moved our luggage when we got there we were not infact closer but slightly further away, but we were on the ground floor although you still have steps to get up to the blocks so again not ideal for a buggy. Then we get to the room the key card didn't work, so once again a walk back to reception done the key and it worked, got into the room again very tired looking, cracks in the tiles, then we noticed the air con wasn't working so we called the reception and they said make sure all the doors were shut which we did, still didn't work. The reception said we would get maintenance out in the morning, so we all had a very hot sleepless night, the kids were frustrated we all were, but we carried on our day. Got back to the hotel instantly we could feel the air-con was working, great! Then went to have a shower and there was no hot water... rang reception AGAIN... they said the whole block has no hot water but the maintenance are working on it! So after 2 hours and still not hot water it was cold showers for us. By this point we thought surely there can't be anything else, we'll the next evening come back to our room and went to charge my phone and the chargers didn't work, no idea what was going on then the room next door knocked on our door and had the same problem they charger was black and smell of burning, there had been a issue with all the electrics, again rang the reception they said they will get someone to check, again had been a whole block issue, so for the remainder of the holiday I had no chargers, the desk said they would reimburse me for any damage good aslong as I could show they proof of purchase.... like seriously!!! So buy this point we said its not safe to stay in this room as clearly there is a ongoing issue with the electrics, they said im sorry there is no other Rooms available, so we had no choice but to stay, we notice that the microwave had also stopped working problemly with the faulty electrics so we asked if a new one could be replac

Recently returned from a week stay at this hotel. Absolutely joyful week taking our young daughters on their first holiday aboard. Amazing facilities, awesome ambiance throughout and wonderful staff at the hotel, who I can’t thank enough for making our stay so satisfying. We unfortunately lost a luggage case at the airport which resulted in a highly stressful first couple of days in the resort. The hotel manager showed us CCTV footage to help retrace our steps. He then wrote an email to support our claim to our travel insurance company. The assistant manager went to the clothes shop on site offering to pay for some additional swimwear for our children, to replace those unfortunately lost in the case. The people who work here truly go the extra mile to support their guests. Since returning home the hotel have even emailed asking how I'm getting on with the lost luggage! Pani & Jeroni deserve to be mentioned in name. Outstanding customer service. Can’t thank their kindness enough. Would go back to this place in a heartbeat

Great animation staff! Had a lot of fun at Zumba, Pilates and Stretching classes:) The evening shows were lively and great choreography, so thanks animation team for awesome holiday vibes! Other than that, rooms are spacious but a bit old. Food choice is great. No sun loungers on the beach, and maaany stairs in the hotel. Children and families have a separate pool, so it was quite relaxing for travellers without kids too.
