Gavimar Cala Gran Hotel and Apartments

It’s a little bit old one and included so I have some meals the meals are good and do the hotels in normal location in Resort parking lot but in front of the building there are several social parking lot. You can park your cars in.

Booked this hotel with a couple of friends, we all had our own rooms the price we paid we thought was very good. We were all inclusive, which worked well. The rooms are were exactly what you would expect from a 3 star hotel in Majorca, basic, but clean and functional. They were cleaned and tidied every day. We thought the idea of a chip in your wristband for your room key was a clever idea, you could never get locked out of your room. You also swiped your wristband when entering the restaurant and when being given alcohol from the bars. The food again was what you would expect form a 3 star, all acceptable and we thought there was plenty of choice. There are 3 pools at this hotel, but one has been shut for a long time and the other 2 are quite small and all week we never managed to get a lounger around the pool which we assumed was the main pool by the entertainment area. We always used the pool by the grassed area. Evening entertainment was good fun on a couple of evenings when the staff did the quiz, It was a right good laugh, the entertainment staff work so hard. As do all the staff that work here, big shout out to kelly at the main bar, always a smile and friendly, and to Daniel at the pool bar. (buenos dias mi amigo como estas) I feel sometimes people expect a 5 star hotel for 3 star prices, you get what you pay for in my opinion. we liked the hotel being close to the beach, which is literally a 5 min walk through the underpass.. We enjoyed our week here, even though the weather was not brilliant. Would we stay again? Maybe one day.

This is a very honest review! Having read the horror reviews I was waiting on disaster. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are very clean. I saw no ants. The pools are perfect. There is some parts shoeing their age but it doesn't effect the standard of hard working staff and the price we paid. It was perfect. Bed comfy. Rooms perfect as shower was over a bath and hot water. The room had English channels. The pool area was manned by a lifeguard and was very clean. Daniel doing the snack bar was polite mannerly and helpful. The snackbar food was good. Burgers, frankfurter hotdogs, chips.breakfast, lunch and dinner was all decent. At times not hot enough but edible. There is plenty of choice and they cater for all nationalities. You would need to not like food to not find something to eat. The staff in the restaurant kept refilling food constantly and kept the tables clean and tidy all the time. The staff all work extremely hard and are all polite and mannerly even when faced with some that are less than nice! I enjoyed all the meals and the facilities. The pool is clean and we bought towels up the street. No pool wars either. The hotel was a joy to stay in. Close to everything and very chilled. I cant fault it. Would I stay again. Definitely. Loved it! A great price, great location and a great hotel with a lot of things to keep you entertained. It is a 3star but for staff alone it is definitely 5star.

We are currently on our last night here and after reading the reviews I was quite worried about coming. If you have got a cheap package deal then this hotel is fine. The location is perfect, a two minute walk from the beach and you are right on the town which has lovely restaurants and bars. The room we were put in was very basic and had a funny smell. The room itself is very small however for 4 nights it was fine. The breakfast was very poor there a quite a few different options but the quality is bad. Lunch was the same, serving the same options each day, the snack bar was reasonable serving good burgers and chips. The range of drinks and ice creams was good. However, we did choose to eat out two evenings of our stay due to the poor quality of food for our evening meal. There are two pools and the entertainment team were excellent with a range of activities on during the day and evening. They would get a 5 star rating. Sun loungers and space by the pool is also an issue. Cala d’or itself was stunning and the location is excellent however please do not expect a 4 star holiday staying here.

Hotel was a little run down and in need of investment. It is two hotels now joined by a bridge and the added part we were in seems in need of major modernising. Food was a major disappointment daily with no menu change really all fish and spice so not for us. Breakfast was basic but nice and the snacks were available and nice. Entertainment was poor and massive lack of neck beds in the area. Steps to gain access to the bar and pool area with no ramps I could see was a bad design. Staff were friendly and helpful and room were clean but no fridge in the room which is a first for me

We have just returned from our 3rd stay here as a family of 3 our daughter is currently 10. The location is fab, right on the beach and also in the town so you can visit the shops, bars, kids areas etc too. The staff really make the hotel what it is, we were delighted to still see sunny in the restaurant and the same staff on reception and in the bar area. They are hardworking, lovely and really take the time to talk to you and make your holiday special. The entertainment team were amazing, they put on a variety of activities in the day for adults and kids to take part in.Our daughter did most of them and had a great time trying out new things. In the evening they put on the kids disco which all the kids enjoyed and then their was something different on each night, the staff worked really hard to make sure all guests were included and to make each one such fun that you couldn’t help but join in. Thank you Even when they see you in resort and weren’t working they would make an effort to have a chat . The beach is beautiful with a small shop, bars and toilets located around it too, but it does get very busy. The town has a variety of shops, restaurants and bars and there is a kids area with trampolines & inflatables in the evening. The train that runs around the island is a lovely way to have a look around and see the harbour. The food was really good, we all eat different sorts of foods and always left full, there’s a good variety out everyday and it’s much better now the restaurant also does lunch, but you can get constant snacks at the pool bar anyway. There’s a good choice of drinks in the all inclusive, the euro for a cup which you get back is fine but can be a bit of pain sometimes and the ques in the bars in the evenings could be quite big, but the staff were lovely and would teach my daughter some new Spanish words each evening, which she loved. The rooms are quite basic but are clean and have everything you need, we had a sea view which was lovely. All the areas in the hotel are clean and tidy. The only thing was that we had tea and coffee making facilities but no where to put any milk so could do with a small fridge, the air conditioning also wasn’t the best. It is quite a noisy hotel with lots going on, our balcony was also over the smoking area so people were often out there making noise till quite late and then staff out cleaning early on. Also one of the pools was closed and by the look of it had been closed for a while so that did mean that some days, if you weren’t in the early morning que you couldn’t sit by either of the other 2 pools, no one seems to know why it was closed. Also the pools are now fenced off in an evening, which is great but the one at the pool bar where all the entertainment is, is left open with all the children running around it in an evening which was a concern for me when my daughter was smaller.
