Almost 9 years since the last review, so maybe this one is long overdue. Yes,it was a former monastery, outffitted to make it a hotel. It is a little austere in the room. Perhaps a little "glam" couldn't hurt. Staff were willing to help despite communication issues. Room was large, a little basic with everything you needed except for a working fridge. Good Italian breakfast but like most lacking any protein, neither meat, cheese nor any eggs. Based on what I paid poor value...

Hotel bem localizado, com estacionamento, corredores largos e elevador grande (!), quarto amplo, banheiro limpo com muitas toalhas, arejado e claro. Mas…. tem muito ‘mas’… paredes finas (os amigos no mesmo andar ouviam a televisão), os quartos são hospitalares de tão despojados. O ar condicionado não funciona, o banheiro tem certo odor de esgoto. O café da manhã é também de pensionato. E todas as partes comuns do hotel tem cheiro de mofo, o que não condiz com o jeitão eclesial (o hotel pertence à Igreja). Nada turístico.

Wij verbleven hier tijdens onze groepsreis van Sicilïe! Na een dagje op archeologische sites verlang je naar een koele kamer om even op adem te komen! Dit hotel biedt dit niet! Het was 35 graden bij binnenkomst in de kamer en op de badkmer was het 10 tot 15 graden warmer! Misselijk werd je er van de warmte! Twee uur later , airco op de laagste temperatuur ...was het nog steeds 33 in kamer! Aan de balie kreeg ik te horen : "tja het is heet in Sicilië"! Ook in de gangen en in de lobby was het zo heet! Je kon nergens ontsnappen aan de hitte! Ik heb moeten slapen met de vensters open omdat het anders onmenselijk heet was!
