Lovely Cottage just above Moonstone Beach in the Pines and Oak Trees.

The location was great, as it sits between both Cambria and Hearst Castle. The cottage was everything we hoped for with countless deers walking the property. At night, you could also hear the ocean off in the nearby distance which was relaxing. Definitely recommend this property and will be back again.

We had a wonderful stay at this Cambria cottage! The tree covered property is beautiful and conveniently located, as it is just a few minutes from Moonstone Beach and the town of Cambria. The cottage itself is just awesome. We traveled with our family of four and my parents and were so comfortable in the space. We rented the entire unit and stayed in the upstairs area, while my parents stayed downstairs. We loved having a bit of our own space and my kids greatly appreciated the alcoves in the upstairs area. My husband, who is notorious for nitpicking construction, could not find anything wrong with this place and he and my son have asked multiple times when we can return to live there. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics you may need and there are extra linens if you need them. In addition to the property, Karl is a responsive host. He reached out prior to our arrival and provided all the information we would need to check in and enjoy our stay. If we had any queries, he was very quick to respond. If you are looking for a serene stay just a quick jaunt from town, this is a great choice.

The aesthetics and comfort of the cottage—and its beautiful setting—helped offset the fact that much of the overall stay felt rather underwhelming. The host was not welcoming; while the generic information letter was useful, it lacked any personal touch, and we did not hear from him at all during our stay. I reached out about an ant infestation and did not receive a response until after we had already checked out.The amenities were adequate, but many of the small touches that make a stay more comfortable were missing. It would have been nice to have basic toiletries in the shower, USB outlets, and a functional pullout sofa in the living room. The kitchen had a coffee maker but no filters or coffee, and only salt and pepper were provided—no oil, spray, or other basic cooking staples. Even the ice trays in the freezer were empty.There were also no games, reading material, welcome letter, local recommendations, or phone numbers for nearby services. Overall, while the cottage itself was charming, the lack of thoughtful details and host engagement made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been.

Property was very clean and convenient. Enjoyed the stay!! Would highly recommend.

Rooms were clean, and although secluded, you can hear the ocean from the rooms. Host required more choes than other VRBO hosts, including bringing large garbage bins to road and back the next day. Host did not most messages, such as when dryer didn't work. And also when we backed our vehicle into low tree stump left behind guest parking spot.

We enjoyed our stay at this guest cottage. Everything was comfortable and well maintained. The location was lovely, under the oaks, and just a short trip to the beach or town. Recommended!

Couple of things to note:- No frills, not even a soap to shower and the one handwash inside was expired years ago. Some basics are important for this price.- Grill was a mess and uncleaned. Had bugs all over and showed there is no real deep cleaning. This was pretty sad.- Communication with manager was weak as we didnt get response for a long time and it was not helpful.- Maybe i missed it in description, but the upper and lower floor are not connected.

This cottage is beautifully adorned with granite countertops, tile showers, and new furnishings. It’s off of the beach a little bit, but you can hear the waves in the morning. The cottage is nestled in amongst acres of trees. The first morning while we were having coffee, we saw nine deer walk right by us eating acorns. The property has a private gate to enter, and acres and acres to explore. It was really relaxing, not to have neighbors like when you stay in a hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful VRBO in an even more beautiful setting. It's quiet, pleasant, relaxing, so close to the beach and town, we really enjoyed our stay! The ONLY issue we had was what is listed isn't fully accurate. We actually chose this place after originally having reserved another site, because it advertised KING beds in both rooms which would work perfect for two couples. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we found out the upstairs, which is very roomy and large, only has a queen bed. There is also no bathtub in bathroom 2 as advertised. Also, no soap or shampoos are provided.Otherwise, this was a lovely place and we'd highly recommend it.
