The room was great. Clean, stocked with all necessary things like shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Would have liked a hairdryer but didn’t see one. The state of the building was a mess though. Major renovations left the first impressions lacking with the “front desk” stuck on the 3rd floor in a conference room. This made dragging my bag through an additional hurdle unhelpful. Renovations are often unavoidable but they should come with informing all guest about them prior to a booking a room. My room looked out onto a huge hole in the ground due to construction on the opposite side of the street. Also not ideal. Views from the lift were nice though.

Though there is renovation going on, it did not bother us. Jun was very helpful checking us in and out. Room is comfortable but sofa bed mattress is too thin, can feel the springs.

This hotel meets Marriott's standards, but doesn't offer any particularly outstanding features. Its location is excellent, right next to the MIT station on the Red Line, and there's a Google building nearby. Getting to downtown via the Red Line is very convenient. We arrived by car at 1 AM and valet parking was no longer available. Valet parking costs $62 USD, and we ended up parking in the public parking lot next to the hotel for $52 USD/day. After parking, we used public transportation to visit Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, and Harvard University. We bought a one-day pass for $11 USD, which was quite convenient.

In a word, other than the location, it's terrible. The front desk staff (who appeared to be Indian) had a terrible attitude. There is no lobby, so if friends visit, you have to have them come up to the room. Breakfast was supposedly included in the room rate, but I was still handed a $75 bill to sign during the buffet breakfast—the implication being America's tipping culture. Also, keep in mind that valet parking is $62 a night and self-parking is $52.
