Hyatt Centric Cambridge

The room was nice, quite spacious, and very new, with a light blue oceanic theme. The location was decent; there's a bus stop right outside with direct service to the city center. The only downside was that there was only one restaurant nearby, an Italian pizzeria, but thankfully the food was really good.

This hotel was a really satisfying stay for me. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from Cambridge city center, but the hotel amenities are excellent. I particularly liked the blue color scheme in the room. Plus, there are bus stops nearby with routes to the train station and various attractions. If you're looking for a comfortable stay, I highly recommend it. There's also a large supermarket conveniently located next door.

The hotel is a bit far from the main Cambridge University area, requiring a bus ride, but it's still very convenient as most Cambridge attractions don't have parking, so taking the bus is the usual way to get around. The front desk staff were also very friendly and patient in answering questions. While early check-in wasn't possible, they did offer luggage storage. My only minor complaint is that there was no phone signal in the hotel, so I relied entirely on Wi-Fi – though mobile network coverage across the UK isn't great in general.

There's a bus stop and a supermarket right nearby. However, for a triple room, they only provided two bottles of drinking water.

The air conditioning was broken. I specifically booked a hotel with AC for some of the hottest days in the UK, only to find it wasn't working. I called the front desk, and they said maintenance had gone home, so there was nothing they could do except offer us a fan. We waited for ages, and no one came, so I had to call again to chase it up, and they finally brought a tiny desktop fan. There were two of us, but the foreign guy next door, who was alone, got two fans! On top of that, I had requested not to have a corner room, but they gave us one anyway, whether it was intentional or they genuinely had no other rooms, I don't know. The main issue was a huge pillar standing right at the foot of the bed, and another big pillar in the bathroom. It was just ridiculous.
