Borinquen Thermal Resort

Location and Natural Surroundings: The hotel is situated in a scenic, nature-rich area with lush landscapes, wildlife (monkeys, birds, iguanas), and proximity to volcanic features. Guests praised the tranquil, peaceful environment and the immersive experience of being surrounded by nature.

A beautiful location on the slopes of Rincon de la Vieja, Borinquen Thermal Resort is a treat in the heart of the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. From the finely appointed rooms to the spacious, lush grounds, to the superb restaurants, this resort stay was one-of-a-kind. Staff was friendly, helpful, and good at their jobs. The pool (with swim up bar) and the natural thermal-fed hot pools were both relaxing and invigorating. The food and drinks were terrific any time of day and served by genial staff. There are thermal features on the property, a small, but quality hiking trail, and wildlife was abundant. With Spider and Howler Monkeys in the trees, iguanas and coatimunde roaming the grounds, and toucans and a wide variety of colorful birds overhead, we did not have to leave the property to enjoy nature's abundance. We also chose to venture with a knowledgeable guide to two photogenic waterfalls through a dense forest populated by many bird species. Borinquen Thermal Resort prides itself on sustainability, and staying there we really felt one with the environment.

Came during slow season. Service was and food was terrible in restaurant. Front desk staff Valeria was rude.
