Overall, we had a great experience at the hotel. We stayed in the Playa Collection King Suite, which was beautiful. My favorite part of the room was the shower. The pools were also great, but they could use more lounge chairs.
There is only one restaurant on site that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. One morning, we went into town and tried El Kafe. We also ate at La Pescaderia and Captains Shack at The Yacht Club for more variety- both within the Palmas Del Mar. However, we found that the food in Puerto Rico was not to our liking, and the service was subpar.
It's important to note that there is a resort fee of $80.00 per day, as well as a $15.00 parking fee. If you have more than two people in a room, there is an additional fee of $40.00 per person. We found that the cafe and restaurant were overpriced for the quality of the food and service.
We drove to other parts of Puerto Rico from the hotel, including the rainforest. The resort is low-key, so don't expect a rowdy time. While we would definitely stay at the hotel again, we have no desire to return to Puerto Rico.
