The hotel rooms are small and the sanitary facilities are poor. They are not consistent with the pictures. There is no golf course and it is not as good as the pictures. It is a family hotel-style hotel with poor management and poor breakfast. I do not recommend it when choosing.

It is an old brick-red building, and the exterior and interior match well. There are many landscapes and portraits hanging in the corridors, and the bathrooms are bright and new. Convenient parking, yard lawn 👍

A lovely place to stay in Canterbury, 10 minutes walk from the city. The current refurbishment looked great very modern and tastefully done, very cool. Sleep quality was excellent, rooms were great, TV & WiFi were also fabulous, YouTube available on the TV always a plus. The breakfast was champion, delicious full English with great quality meat, veggie option, the kippers were awesome. Staff were great, parking was safe. A very nice time staying here, I hope to come back, thank you!

Stopped here for 1 night in March. Photos on the booking website help sell us this hotel as well as free parking. The hotel itself has great architecture from the outside and plenty of free parking spaces (which many of the Canterbury Hotels don't have). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main town centre and shops. The hotel itself was mid refurb with the main reception, bar area and half of the rooms complete. The refurbished areas were stunning, very modern. The areas not updated like the breakfast dining area, and half of the upstairs floors were quite dated (but clean). Upon checking in we was delighted to be given a free upgrade to a Suite Room, this was great considering we'd only booked the standard double room. The suite room was recently refurbished and had a lovely bed, dressing table, TVs, coffee machine, sofa and good size bathroom with a bath and shower. The team were quick and happy to answer any questions at reception and on the telephone. I would highly recommend booking this hotel and would stay here again. It would be fantastic to see it when the refurbishment is complete.

My wife and I celebrated our Diamond Wedding Anniversary in March with a very enjoyable lunch party for 40 family and friends at the Abbots Barton Hotel. We had a lovely spacious room, the food was delicious and the Manager Aiden Strong and his team did everything to make our day happy and trouble free. They dealt with late menu choices, changes to numbers and some guests delayed by a traffic accident, remaining friendly and helpful throughout. It's a lovely venue, close to Canterbury city centre and with free guest parking.

We stayed for a night, during a family trip. We were greeted by Aidan, who was very helpful during the check in process as well as tourist information about the city. The rooms, on the non-refurbished side, were not warming up sufficiently with the existing heating units. Aidan in reception provided us with additional heating elements that worked fantastically well. Thank you Aidan.

The hotel is undergoing extension and refurbishment. We stayed in a newly refurbished executive room with a link to an adjacent room for family use. The facilities were excellent. The superking bed was very comfortable and would have easily converted to twin beds if required. Modern bedside lamps incorporating separate directional reading lamps created the least disturbance for a partner who required an early night. The incorporation of a continental plug socket was a useful addition for guests en route to or from the continent. We would add an extra armchair and small round table for convenience. We arrived early on the day of our stay. Chloe on reception was particularly helpful in guiding us to a very good restaurant for lunch within 10-15 minutes walk. The hotel provided an excellent breakfast menu with a good range of alternatives. All hot food was cooked to order and was presented on hot plates/bowls. Aiden was very helpful in arranging the booking and in giving us an introduction into how the hotel will look and feel once all the work is completed, including a peek at the suite and some of the other bedrooms. I am pleased to say we noticed no disturbance from contractors. On a future visit to Canterbury we would be very pleased to stay here again.

A very enjoyable two night stay at Best Western Abbots Barton Hotel. We booked an Executive King room which was very comfortable, spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide range of choice. The staff team were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

The staff were wonderful, really polite and helpful even offering to help get bags up. There was renovations going on so the dining options were limited but the pizzas they were making were lovely.
Convenient for getting into town and the rooms were comfortable and cosy.
