The staff was very friendly and the room clean and well furnished. Can do with a microwave. The breakfast was incredible and well worth it. Parking is secure and the hotel is well situated for easy access.

This hotel was truly a hidden gem and one of the best stays we had during our trip! The breakfast was delicious with a good selection, and we really enjoyed starting our mornings here. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept really well every night. What impressed us the most was the service. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We had an issue with our room, and they were very kind and efficient in helping us change to another room. They handled everything so well and made sure we were comfortable, which we really appreciated. The location is also excellent — very convenient, easy to get around, and most importantly, we felt safe staying in this area. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, excellent service, and a very good location. Definitely a hidden gem and a hotel we would happily stay at again. Highly recommended!

The place is amazing with contemporary architecture, feel and atmosphere. The location is ideal and provides easy access to city centre, waterfront and UCT. The rooms are spacious, clean and allow ample natural light flow into the bedroom. There’s good lighting in rooms that get much natural light. The basic amnesties are in place making one’s stay comfortable and pleasant. It is great value for money.

I had a lovely stay at Blackbrick Gardens even though it was for business great fun was had ,the staff are friendly, waiters, housekeeping and kitchen staff,I also want to thank Ceejay the receptionist and Justin the manager for making things runs smoothly both for all the colleagues I was with and myself. Myself as the coordinator had a run around however I had the support of Ceejay and Justin ensuring things go smoothly as they handled all changes that was made professionally. They really went the extra mile I highly recommend this place for business and pleasure

We recently spent a family stay at BlackBrick Gardens (2 Roodehek Street in the Gardens neighbourhood) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The property is a thoughtfully converted 1960s industrial building turned into a design-led apartment hotel, and that character comes through immediately. The architecture and interiors stood out for their comfort and thoughtful design. High ceilings, natural light, custom furnishings, and a blend of raw textures with refined details made the spaces feel both characterful and relaxing. Our apartment was comfortable and well-appointed, with the kind of flow that works well for a family—living, resting, and moving around easily without feeling cramped. Live events added real energy to the stay. The property’s community-oriented vibe and programming made the place feel lively and connected to the neighbourhood rather than isolated. It was easy to enjoy the atmosphere without it becoming overwhelming. We also particularly appreciated the formal boardrooms and work pods. These offer fully capable conference facilities paired with speedy, reliable Wi-Fi—ideal if anyone in the family needs to handle work or meetings during the trip. The co-working and meeting spaces are a genuine standout and felt professional yet accessible. Overall, BlackBrick Gardens delivered a comfortable, well-designed base that balanced relaxation, a bit of local culture and events, and practical work amenities. The location in vibrant Gardens (walkable to bars, restaurants, and the broader City Bowl) rounded it out nicely. We left impressed and would happily return.

What a great funky style hotel in Gardens Cape atown. BlackBrick has done it again...turned a disused office block into a New York style hotel designed for young and old alike. Whether a business person or a tourist, the apartment style living gives you multiple options. And of course the view is a dream. The lift was crazy as it has two sides...that's not the funniest it stops on 2 floors ... one indicating East and one West. I'm curious to talk to the engineer who had to design that...the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there were no plugs next to the bed to charge my phone and it had to be charged in the kitchen area. I have children who live across the world and like to be available at all times to them that was the only draw back so bring an extension cord when you visit. Small price to pay for a great spot

During our stay, housekeeping removed items from our fridge and later admitted via WhatsApp that they had thrown them away, mistakenly assuming we had checked out. We had not. The items were valued at R1,500. What made this worse was management’s handling of the situation. The manager was dismissive and later claimed the staff “did not find” the items - directly contradicting the written admission previously sent to me. That inconsistency speaks for itself. Nearly a month later, no refund has been processed and communication has largely stopped. There were also repeated privacy breaches. Despite displaying a “Do Not Disturb” sign, staff entered our room multiple times. On one occasion, a staff member walked in while I was completely naked. This was reported to reception, and no formal apology was ever issued. Mistakes can happen. What defines a business is accountability. In this case, there has been none. We made every effort to resolve this privately and professionally before posting this review. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency and follow-through has left us no alternative. Proceed with caution.

Brand new hotel with gorgeous minimalist architectural design. Bed is comfortable, kitchen is very complete, views are incredible, and the staff consists of lovely individuals who are eager to assist (Unam was my favorite). I spend about thirty nights per year in hotel rooms and this was one of my favorites of 2025. I highly recommend.
