On a recent guided tour to South Africa, this was the hotel we were based in for our 4 days in Cape Town. It is handily located 5mins taxi ride (20min plus walk) from the Waterfront in Cape Town. It is in a quiet part of the city. The hotel is modern, the staff very friendly and rooms well sized and equipped (although having a curtain to pull right across the width of the room to seperate the room when someone was in the shower is a novelty). Depending on which side of the hotel you are on you get a great view of Table Mountain/Signal Hill. Breakfast was included and the hoetl breakfast selection was excellent, a good start to the day. All in all a very pleasant stay, a great base for exploring Cape Town and a good start to the trip

Stayed for one night, modern looking room with king bed a tub that divided the bed with the restroom sink. The toilet and shower were in two separate stalls. There was a pod operated coffee machine, kettle and fridge. Breakfast was extra so I didn't had it. In the afternoon I went to the bar in the lobby and ordered their kale salad and a drink; the ingredients were good but the salad was drenched in a sweet dressing that overpowered all the ingredients so much that it felt like eating a fruit salad and not in a good way. When the server came to pick the plate and asked about the food (I couldn't eat much) I told her that the ingredients were good but the dressing was way too much. She looked surprised and said that the dressing was supposed to be on the side, I told her that I received it all mixed together. She shrugged and left with the plate. Later she brought the bill, I paid cash and although it wasn't much I didn't get my change back, didn't bother much but not sure if this is common over there so just wanted to mention. The area around seemed to have a few restaurants and there was a museum just next door. Uber eats was a great alternative to avoid eating in the hotel.

Very satisfied with this hotel. Good location, but quite noise at night, as the street is very lively. The rooms were great, clean and the staff just sooo friendly and helpfull. Can recommend this hotel for a couple of nights

This accommodation was a fantastic few in the beautiful city of Cape Town. Very eclectic mix of visitors from young backpackers, families and couples. We stayed in an en-suite double room which was perfect for our needs. There are so many beautiful communal areas to relax in and the bar was always relaxing and comfortable. They have organised activities that you can join or you can simply use it as a base to stay in. Would thoroughly recommend and it’s great to know that some of the revenue goes to a worthy cause.

I have been in Cape Town at least 20 times, and for now, this is my favorite place to stay. The location is great: in Gardens, which is for me the best place to stay at, in a quiet side street, and in easy walking distance of several restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms are big and very comfortable. Staff is friendly and its really good value for money. If you dont like very loud music, make sure to pay a little bit more and choose a room at the back of the building, so that you dont ”enjoy” the music of the mexican restaurant beneath the front rooms.

I've stayed there a few nights, and return again & again; even contemplating a long stay. The place is clean; the communal kitchen & lounge area is inviting, the in-house pub & adjoining balcony is cosy and gives the feel of a private party, above the bustle of Long Street below. Communal bathrooms are OK, kept clean. I love the many nooks & turns & corners of the old house and the creaking wooden floors. But the guests are what make the place feel like a home away from home -- an eclectic mix of local & foreign visitors passing through the city. There's a feeling & atmosphere of being in a backpackers in a foreign city, somewhere abroad, making one feel as if one is on holiday, somewhere away from home. I love this place! It's become my accommodation of first choice, for a party night or two in the city.
