Legoland Castle Hotel

This hotel was a dream come true for my kids. It was magical. I highly recommend the splurge.

It was a dream for my son for awhile to visit Legoland and the hotel stay was the icing on top. He asked if he could live there. The only challenge was that the restaurant air conditioning was really uncomfortable, but we were able to control the temp in the rooms so that was minor.

My kids really enjoyed our trip and stay at Legoland Castle

There were only two issues with our stay at the Castle Hotel, and they both involved the Dragon’s Den restaurant. Our other experiences with the Castle Hotel were great—the pool staff is fantastic, it’s clear as a former lifeguard that the lifeguards are well trained, housekeeping was great, and the character staff at meet and greets were great as well. We ordered room service on Sunday evening and it took 2.5 hours for our food to arrive to our room. That’s a long time for a hungry kid to wait after we had a long drive to the hotel. The second issue is that the breakfast buffet in Dragon’s Den is super loud and chaotic, and was so overstimulating that my autistic child had to take a quiet break in our room before we could go to the park. We tried it twice and figured out after the second attempt that it was painful for our son to be in the restaurant during breakfast. I texted the Concierge help text line, and asked if it would be possible for us to make a breakfast reservation & bring my son’s food back to our room for him to eat in a calmer environment. The customer service person said “you are more than welcome to do that, just let our staff know at Dragon’s Den in the morning, we are always more than happy to help”. When we got to Dragon’s Den the next morning, they said the Concierge was wrong and they only allow a few cold items (bread/muffins) to be taken out of the restaurant to eat. I’m not upset that the restaurant was inaccessible for my child, but I am frustrated that we made a plan for breakfast & early park entrance that relied on inaccurate information from the Concierge. Obviously I would also love for there to be a way to make breakfast accessible for all hotel guests, but I understand that it is a Health & Safety issue to allow hot food to be taken out of the restaurant to eat as the restaurant staff explained. Knowing that info ahead of time would be helpful, receiving incorrect information from Hotel Staff was frustrating.

This is our second time staying at this hotel. First time was great but the second was not so much. First we spent the day at Legoland and came to check in at 4:45 pm the room was not ready until 6:00pm! I spoke to the front desk and was given a 75 credit. Food at the restaurant was sub par. Ordered a grilled chicken sandwitch and the bread was cold. It’s 9:00 am and room service already walked in to bother us this early. Definitely won’t be staying here again

We had such a great stay at the LEGOLAND Hotel. From the moment we walked in, the entire place felt like an extension of the park, which we noted and could see ourselves just taking the kids for a staycation at the hotel. There were activities going on throughout the day, and the play areas gave the kids a chance to burn off energy after being at the park. We wish the pool would have been open later, though! Shout out to Jessica at the front desk, she gave us some great tips for how to tackle the park. Overall, it didn’t just feel like a place to lay our tired heads, the hotel was an experience in of itself.
