Palazzo Gentilcore

We were very warmly welcomed. Our room was very nice, spacious and quiet. The hotel itself is very nice with different areas to sit and relax. The breakfast buffet was huge with delicious dishes. Castellabate itself is a very nice village with a stunning view onto the sea!

I booked based on the amazing reviews it had but I found the place did not live up to its expectations. Parking is an issue as the hotel does not have parking or even a spot reserved for loading the car. The rooms are modern but not functional, when you shower the whole bathroom gets wet as it was poorly designed. The room has too much furniture to move around. The bedding is quite basic also, only a thin bedsheet was provided with no duvet, the pillows are from IKEA and do not even have a pillow protector. Breakfast is good with lots of variety but it could also be improved.

Gentilcore is a fantastic place to stay when you are in castellabate! very new and clean and with great views on the surronunding landscape and little town of castellabate; you are right in the town centre at walking distance to all restaurants. do not forget to visit the incredible viewpoint. in just 10 minutes you are on the beach, which is really nice and not too crowded!

as good as expected from other Trip Advisor reviews-excellent location with beautiful views, rooms decorated with taste, bed extremely comfortable, amazing breakfast. 15-20mn from the seaside where you find quiet sandy beaches. Warmly recommended for a short stay off the busy Amalfy coast.

If you want to stay in the centre of the old town in Castellabate, and if you like small hotels in boutique style, this is the place for you! You are only a few steps from the Piazza with a nice restaurant ans a bar, and 4-5 minutes to walk to the great viewpoint for a marvellous sunset. Old building, super modern bathroom with fantastic shower. Room decorated in nice colours. And a very rare quality in Italy: Super comfortable bed! Our room (named Ogliastro) had a big terrace with great views to the hills with olive trees and all the way to the sea. Very friendly and helpful people in the reception. Nice breakfast in the garden, not the biggest buffet, but very tasty. Parking in the square close to the hotel or in the street below was no problem and no charge.

This is an elegant and lovely boutique hotel in Castellabate. If you don’t mind driving the narrow curvy road up the hill, this is a fine place to stay. The rooms are all very pretty, and each one different. We stayed in “Ogliastra”. Couldn’t ask for a nicer room. I think all rooms (or most at least) have some kind of view. Ours was a corner room with a shared terrace that had a stupendous view. The rooms are beautifully tiled, with high ceilings and excellent lighting. We were very impressed with the lighting because so many hotels have poor lighting. The room also has an air purification system (separate from the A/C) that I think was installed for Covid. The bathroom was very nice with a great shower that has 3 directional shower heads. Also a heated towel bar, which is a nice touch. We liked the A/C in our room also because unlike some hotels, the unit does not blow directly on the bed, and has louvers for adjusting air direction. As true with many older buildings, the walls were thick and we never heard our neighbors. Though the building may be old (as many in Europe) it has been very tastefully remodeled and very attractive. Only a few minor complaints - Very limited space to store clothing. There is no closet, just a wardrobe. The room was not very large, but quite adequate. The large terrace with French doors certainly made up for any lack of space. We had a wall outlet that did not work, but they supplied us with an extension cord with multiple plug adapter to plug our devices into. Breakfast offerings were limited but all of the highest quality and delicious. All the coffee in Italy is very good, but the coffee here and the barista were outstanding. Service is attentive. If Castellabate is on your radar (which it should be!), and you wish a touch of elegance, you will like this hotel.
