A fabulous place in beautiful surroundings. Lovely staff, food and rooms superb. Full of charm and character. We had the tasting menu with wine flight in their Michelin starred restaurant. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. We’ll be coming back.

I came down to view the Manor House as a possible venue for my wedding and instantly fell in love with the magic that is The Manor House. We spent the night and had the most wonderful stay. Super comfy beds. Beautiful views. Amazing deep bath and lovely shower. TV in the bathroom so you can watch a film whilst relaxing in the bath with a glass of fizz. Nothing was too much of an ask for the staff. Really welcoming and has such a homely feel. We really can’t wait to come back and visit for our food tasting and then, our wedding!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Manor house, the staff are Welcoming and attentive making check-in, check-out and everything in between seamless. The grounds are immaculate and inviting, whether you feel like a round of golf or an afternoon stroll through the garden. My favourite feature in our Room was the shower with rainbar that, coupled with the Molton Brown, made for a very relaxing stay.

After a small misunderstanding with the hotel we were kindly compensated a complementary 1 night stay with breakfast at The Manor House. Our communications with the hotel prior to booking were with the operations manager, Denzil, and the reservations manager, Megan. Both were so helpful and could not do enough for us but I would like to give a special mention to Denzil who elevated our stay to exceptional heights and made us feel incredibly valued. When we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff were extremely polite and attentive to all our enquiries. The hotel itself is grand on the outside but has a quaint feel to it on the inside due to the layout of the many rooms. All the rooms/suites are individually named after local landmarks which adds to the classic feel of the venue. Our room was up a small set of stairs, it opened into a lounge which had been converted for our 4 year old. He was over the moon with the large tv from which he could watch from his wing backed chair. The whole suite was beautifully decorated with classic touches all around without compromising on modern conveniences. We had a large lunch at a lovely pub a few miles away before arriving so we booked into the lounge for a few things to eat. The food, while reasonably priced, was presented well and the flavours were well balanced. We had a few different cocktails and for me, they were the star of the show. If it wasn’t for my little one’s bedtime I would have worked my way through the menu. After a good nights rest we made our way down to the restaurant for breakfast. The continental breakfast has a perfect selection providing something for everyone. I would recommend anything with eggs as the yolks were bright orange and perfectly done. Overall, The Manor House deserves more than a 5* review. This is mainly down to the team. They are brilliant ambassadors of the hotel. We are already planning our return. Once again Denzil, thank you and hopefully we will see you soon.

Charming hotel in lovely grounds, Italian gardens. Set among green hills. 9 (?) course dinner at the Bybrook restaurant had some splendid sauces although the steak was stringy and personally I hardly think the Brioche constitutes a course! Service was excellent and Michelin star is deserved. When we first arrived Castle Coombe resembled Blackpool but once the crowds had gone the whole place had a wonderful peace.

We regularly visit The Manor House Hotel for afternoon tea, and have also stayed there. The last few ‘tea’ visits have been disappointing. On entering the grounds of the hotel, we have noticed them swarming with non-patron tourists, keen to take selfies with the hotel in the background. One family had even launched a drone to photograph the front of the hotel, and the noise was irritating to anyone sitting, legitimately, at a table on the nearby lawn, trying to enjoy a quiet cream tea. One pays a premium for a treat at The Manor House, but all exclusivity has now disappeared. After ordering cream teas at the bar, I asked for the table adjacent to ours to be cleared. It was laden with dirty dishes and what looked like a box of takeaway cakes and coffee cups, attracting a swarm of flies. The beverages came out, and I again reminded the waiter about clearing the dirty table. He assured me it would be done right away. A while later, when the tea was going cold, the scones were served. The correct way to serve tea (and certainly at this price and in a top 5* establishment) is to accompany it with a pot of hot water. This is to ‘top up the pot’ after the first cup has been drunk, ensuring that the second is neither too strong, nor tepid/cold in temperature. It seems to be a dying custom, but is a mark of good service, which has not been provided at The Manor House for some time, and always has to be asked for. With the scones on the table, I again asked for the filthy table adjacent to be cleared and, finally, on the third request, this happened. I remarked that it was a disgrace that such a mess should be left uncleared for a considerable time, and then only done at a customer’s request. I went back into the bar to pay the bill, and waited a good five minutes to be served. No-one appeared, so I trundled off to the reception. No-one was manning the desk there, either. I wandered around aimlessly, wasting precious time, then went back to the bar to find the bar-tender there. I expressed my disappoin**ent about the slow response to my request for the dirty table to be cleared, the fact that no hot water was served with the tea (he had never heard of this custom) and the fact that there was quite a wait for the scones while the tea was going cold. I was half way through my gripe when he averted his gaze across the room (the height of bad manners, even if I was boring the pants off him). At this point, I asked for the service charge to be removed, and vowed never to return to The Manor House Hotel again

This Hotel lives up to it's reputation. Stunning room (Cottage with Twin Baths) - Room has everything you want - bath gowns, umbrellas and wellies! Rainfall shower, with side shower also Food is amazing - we ate at the Castle Inn (owned by Hotel) - I had the pork, with Red Mullet starter - a joyful experience Staff across the Hotel and pub were attentive, friendly and warm (unlike so many other places we've stayed, where you might be treated like a corporate number) This venue has a wonderful balance of professional & welcoming We keep going back as it's a wonderful relaxing couples break Highly recommended PS - if not in your room, as for the local walk guide

This hotel is a must stay if in the area. The setting can only be described as stunning and the hotel building and cottages in the vast grounds are meticulously maintained. The staff were not only friendly and professional but gave us the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Probably the best all round service we have had to date at any hotel we have stayed in the UK or overseas. To round it all off the food was excellent. We would highly recommend choosing a plush room with a view in the main house (we booked Crewscroft) where every detail had been catered for and the view across the lawn and over to the wier was beautiful. We will be sure to recommend this hotel to family and friends as the perfect place for a special occasion.

The room was amazing, the food incredible, the staff wonderful. We were celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary and the staff made it very special, lots of extra little touches. The evening Taster menu was unbelievable, each course an explosion of taste and texture. Well worth the Michelin star rating.
