A beautiful clean hotel and a great location in the center of Catania. Thank you Giuseppe for the lovely greeting you gave us on our arrival on Friday 16th Feb. Also to Sonia for the amazing advice on places to see and transport information and to Mary for your delicious breakfast. We higly recommend this hotel. We hope to return.

This place is a dump at least the room we got 302. The room smells of mold extremely bad and their is mold all over the bathroom. The flooring has been so wet it's coming up and is a trip Hazzard. Do not stay here, I have traveled on business for over 30 years and have never complained about where I stay. Actually I am very easy going and can settle for less but this is just too much. The management was no help at all, and has told us there is nothing they can do, we asked for a refund and they said no because we already paid on line (Beware). Also no minibar as advertised. I already have a headache from all the mold smell in the air. Very disappointed look somewhere else

The rooms are delightful and the outside patio is a quiet restful place for a few minute get away if quiet. Staff was very considerate and helpful.

It cost 30 euros to get to this hotel from the airport. Due to a flight mix up we only had two hours at the hotel so we used the time to shower since we had already paid for the night. When you arrive you must take the elevator to get to the reception area. It was definitely an older hotel with very basic accommodations. The overnight clerk was very helpful because he made us a cappuccino in the middle of the night and called a cab so we could return to the airport.

Really nice room, with painted ceiling, comfortable bed. Very clean, well equipped. All the staff were extremly kind, smiling and helpful. The breakfast was a feast. You can eat it on the roof terrace, which has a view on a hanging garden and the Etna. Wish we would stay here for a month! They recommended a nearby restaurant, which served very good sicilian food. (Street54) Parking in the courtyard is comfortable. You stay in the very middle of the city, perfect for a city tour.

No middle ground with this hotel - things were either very good or very bad. Location in general is very good as close to main Duomo area. However, the appearance from outside looks really bad and you need to buzz to be let in. Staff - breakfast and morning staff were friendly and professional. Afternoon and evening tended to be ignorant and unfriendly. Room - we were initially given a room at the end of a dimly lit corridor that had a broken air conditioner. From the heat (and smell) in the room in was broken for a while. When we pointed this out we were moved to a better room. The air conditioning in our room worked well but was very loud. The price is good. We paid €90 a night so good if on a budget and don’t have big expectations. A 2.5 star rating would be more appropriate for our stay but you can’t do that so I rounded up to 3 star.

The old building is in a very convenient place (in the heart of the old city) The hotel occupies the 4th floor. The entrance to the building is clean and nice and there is an elevator in order to reach the 4th floor. The rooms need an immediate renovation because they are not only old-fashioned but the furniture is really old. Luckily the mattress was perfect as well as the cotton sheets. Another problem is that they are not soundproof at all and if you have a front room there is really much noise from the street even with the windows closed!! If you prefer a more quiet room, book a rear room which has no view but no noise from the outside as well. Breakfast was lovely and it is served (when the weather is fine) on a small terrace which is so typical of the city. In my opinion, it is a true 3-star hotel and it has a strong value-for-money relationship.

Superior room : small, dark, but the worse is a dreadful smell of rot in the shower room, as the shower has been leaking for ages, and has rotten the wooden elements of the bathroom, including the door which doesn’t close. The smell is such that we couldn’t sleep properly. The male staff is extremely rude and incompetent. They cannot find your reservation or print your bill. Everybody there is pulling a face, looking down on the clients. A hopeless place to avoid at any cost.
