If you are looking for a slow paced and quiet vacation with minimum to do then this is your resort. The staff at the resort is friendly and kind. The spa was amazing. I had a 2 hour Swedish massage with scalp massage. It was so nice. I went back to my room and slept. The water taxi ti the south ran on time 99% of the time. The restuarant food was ok. Best food is on the south side. The store on the resort has a lot of things you may have forgotten at home. Only negative thing is....a need for a adult only pool area. Day 3 a big family arrived with a lot of little ones that took over the pool. Hopefully with the new edition the owners reserve a pool for just adults.

Beautiful place and the accommodations are spacious. Our only criticism is that this place is not eco-friendly. In such a beautiful place, you would expect no single use-plastic nor plastic Keurig cups and at a minimum, you’d expect that the plastic would be recycled. Also, there is a great deal of sargassum everywhere. The sargassum, combined with so much trash and plastic all over Caye Caulker, makes us very sad because Belize is such a beautiful country

We had a great stay at the Blue zen, we came for 3 days at the start of our trip and came back at the end of our trip for another 9 days. It has a great resort feel with easy access to the main restaurants and activities.

Beautiful property, beautiful rooms and excellent customer service from the staff. However, you should know (and the resort is NOT communicating this to you), you CANNOT use their beach. It is COMPLETELY filled with sargassum. You have to use a bike or rent a golf cart to go to the other side of the island to enjoy a beach. So if you're going for lovely beach enjoyment just steps outside your suite, stay elsewhere. The sargassum is SO bad, you cant even sit outside at the pool or your porch. The smell is overpowering!! Had we known it was this bad, we never would have stayed here and management has been non-responsive to our complaint.

We were hiking the North island of Caye Caulker (hardly a big hike, maybe 1 hour thirty full round trip) and having seen some reviews we called in for a breakfast. Well, they were as nice a plate of scrambled eggs, spiced up with some chopped peppers, as I've ever enjoyed. Nicely served with good coffee by a very pleasant barman. I wonder if lunch is as good? Worth a try, I'd say.

This is a very beautiful resort where you can enjoy both worlds! The quiet and relaxing atmosphere is good for those wanting more of the slower pace of vacation while the free Blu Zen ferry can take you to the South side of island where it's filled with many options for entertainment/food. There are multiple pools but we stayed near the main pool where the Lotus bar/restaurant is located. Ellie, Melvin, Mario and the gang are attentive and friendly. Front desk staff answered any questions we had. Wife had a 90 minute massage that she loved! We recently stayed in A3N which is one of the few units with a 3rd floor view and elevator access! Plus, it's right next to the pool bar and steps from free water taxi. We have been coming down for the past few years and generally rent a golf cart for our stay to get to the nearby attractions and even go to the South side of island. The views and pools are top notch as there is not a lot of beach to work with on this side. That is where Bliss Beach comes in as it is on other side and has what you are looking for. Units equipped with washer/dryer and full kitchen so we can stay in on some nights and binge on Netflix! Plus, Lotus restaurant will deliver to our condo which is nice if the weather isn't. Just remember, GO SLOW but keep moving!

I’d sum this review up by saying they’re trying really hard, but they’re just not quite there yet. We stayed for 3 nights. The condo was lovely and well-stocked with kitchen equipment, though the addition of some salt and pepper and cooking spray would have been nice. The property is well-maintained and looks lovely, though be aware that the beach isn’t really a lie-out kind of beach. I think it was probably man-made as in a thin layer of sand above maybe concrete. Looks great but wouldn’t be comfortable to sit on. The staff is super friendly. The biggest problem was food. Everywhere we went - at both resort restaurants and the other restaurant on the north side - they were out of key things (like fish when half the menu was fish, and yogurt at breakfast) and it took our food FOREVER to arrive. The first night at the Lotus restaurant on-site we waited half an hour just for our drinks and when I asked it was clear that they had just forgotten them. And both nights at the resort restaurants they forgot one of our meals. But you’re kind of stuck because otherwise you’ve got to get on the shuttle to the south and then shuttle back, and though the shuttle is nice it isn’t as frequent as you’d expect considering there’s not much on the north side at all. Finally, it just felt like they were nickel and diming you much of the time. Like I had to sign something about how many towels we got, and after I left, they charged me $5 for a little washcloth that they said had stains on it that wouldn’t come out. I get it that places need to be able to charge when guests take significant items like bathrobes and pool towels, but a tiny washcloth? It’s just not what I’d expect from a “luxury” resort.

The resort was exceptional. The aesthetic, the individual places, the Happy Lobster within walking or biking distance. Just perfect. The staff was amazing, hospitable and always welcoming. The smiles on their faces and “welcome home” made me feel like we were at the perfect place in all of Belize! BluZen exudes luxury and exclusivity. The courtesy ferry boat to the South Island was so accommodating. I would not change a thing. Well La Forgata would be better if their standard was reflective of the resorts standard. It is not. The place was quaint and cute but “we don’t have…” is never a good introduction. It will not take away from the beauty of the resort but I’d rather walk a few more steps off the resort to the Happy Lobster. Great trip overall and absolutely will not be the last visit to BluZen 💙

A great experience all around. Accommodations were better than pictured. Everyone we met was some kind and genuine. And the restaurants were both great. A great location and a great trip!
