Dreadful, dirty, dilapidated, rude staff in 2019. Avoid at all costs or regret you entered here. See my reviews above, and below. I have stayed here most years since 2006. My family lives close by. In 2006 I was impressed by the ambience, staff and antiques collected in the hotel, then named ”Metropolis” after the film. Then, I loved it. Each room was themed after ”Metropolis” and the hotel showed a magnificent collection of antique Philippine and Malaysian art works. I think Metropolis had new owners and named Crown Regency Residencies around 2008. Sine 2008 it has deteriorated. No restoration, same menu as 2006. Good staff have quit. Bed sheets torn, flooring decaying, old air conditioners decaying. Bathrooms filthy,

We booked the 4 nights at the hotel because it walking distance from Robinson mall and other eateries. We booked the hotel mainly for sleeping, because our tours started really early in the morning. The booking include breakfast, but since we leave for tours before breakfast open, the staffs kindly packed us sandwiches and coffees each day to go. Room is cleaned and comfortable as in pictures. Would book this hotel next time. Btw, we recommend the Thewi Thai massage near there.

We went to Cebu for a few days and decided to stay here since the location is near almost everything that we need and the rate is cheaper compared to other hotels nearby. Here are my thoughts: 1. Originally, we booked a Deluxe Room (one queen bed and one single bed) via phone a week prior our arrival. The Receptionist told us that the room can hold three guests since they don't have a room with three beds. 2. When we arrived, I was surprised to see how small the room was. The beds can definitely fit three adults / persons but the room itself is quite cramped for three people with luggages. You can't even walk around the room without bumping to each other or bumping to the furniture. 3. I went to the Reception Area and requested if we can have three single beds instead. In my head, I imagined that with three single beds, we could have more space and navigate a little freely. 4. Arrived back the hotel around 8ish (after having dinner) and was disappointed that our room was not arranged how we requested several hours ago. 5. Went back to the Reception Area and explained what has transpired. It was a good thing that the staff there were polite that kept me from making a scene. 6. I explained (again) that the reason why we're requesting for three single beds because the size of the room doesn't suffice three adults. Receptionist apologized and ALSO agreed that the room was too tiny for us. I almost laughed because when we checked in, I explained to them that we were three guests. They even asked for a 500php fee for the additional person. Why didn't they tell us from the start that the room was not equipped to accommodate three guests? 7. I requested for a bigger room (Family Room) which only costs 100php more than our original room. Luckily, there was an available room the following day until we leave Cebu. 8. Family Room was definitely spacious. It has a one queen sized bed and a sofa bed. The room was adequately clean but there are some evidence of worn out furniture and old sheets (clean but minimal stains). Fortunately, the bathroom was clean and the towels were relatively new. 9. We requested to ”Make Up Room” the next day since will be out the whole day that time. When we got back, again, felt really frustrated because the room was still unkempt and the trash weren't taken out. Needed to call the Reception Area again. 10. They provide free WiFi but they will just give you a piece of paper with the code. And the code is only good for one gadget for two days. If you have like five gadets, you need to ask five vouchers. Since we were at the 4th floor, for some reason, the internet gets disconnected from time to time. 11. They don't offer free water daily. I suggest that you stock up your room with water. 12. Aircon is old. It can cool the room partially because it's just a window type zircon which I think is just less than 1 horsepower. It's manual. 13. No trash bin inside the room. You need to go to that bathro

This is a budget friendly choice if you need to a short stay in Cebu city. Its ideally located near JY so transportation will not be a problem. They also have a resto called Tamp but its on the pricier side. Other restos/cafe just across the street as well. I had two overnight stays both booked on Agoda. The second stay, I decided to walk in however the front office desk agent advised me that they did not have availability. Strange. I booked a room via Agoda on the spot and was able to get the room and a good rate. Room pretty basic but it had the necessary amenities like coffee/tea making facilities. Also toiletries. Have to mention that on my 2nd stay, I was given a room that did not smell fresh. It was clean and all but the linens smelled like they did not dry properly so it was annoying. I did not raise an issue with front desk because it was just an overnight stay All in all, they offer better rates than the Yello hotel just across the road. They have long stay and day use rates as well.

Pros: -Good price. -Great place, it's located at the highway beside 7/11 and it's in between my church and Fuente circle which I like the most. Only a few meters far from my church and a few steps to Robinson's. -Small (I booked single bed though so I think single rooms are like that) but clean and bed is very comfy. -Affordable rates -Has WiFi. -Accomodating staff, they're always smiling. 🙃 Cons: -Hot shower not working. -Too noisy at night since my room was facing the main road, teenagers are laughing and screaming until 3am. So if you want a quiet room choose the other side.

Im very satisfied the room and the service is great and if you want to go in mall no need to go out in the hotel its only connected

One of the Best Hotels in Lahug offers quality accommodation that fits your budget -a walking distance to Cebu IT Park for freelancers/IT (if you are senior, has physical limitations, just chillin', on vacation with love ones/family/buddies, a freelancer- this is a safe, clean and quiet place) more than an hour ride to the airport. Lobby area is fair size with two very responsive staff receiving guests at the front desk during the day and awesome graveyard staff at front desk. Rooms are of a spacious (Deluxe Twin Room wherewe stayed with my family) size, separate doors for the bathroom and the restroom. Colors of the room are pretty relaxing (yellow for Yello Hotel). Decent speed for the complimentary Wi-Fi internet access (stayed at the sixth floor). The restaurant is located at the roof deck (they have three sets of working elevators) and offers variety of foods and drinks (they have a mini bar) at the roof deck. Free secured parking is also available. For public transport- taxi or grab ride. Will definitely recommend this place 5/5. When in Cebu, it is worth to give it a try. We are definitely coming back! Amazing very affordable and convenient to all restaurants and near 7/11. Good to stay for family.

This visit to Marco Polo truly saddened me. If you read some of my past reviews of this hotel I noted it was my favorite place to stay anywhere in the world. This was my first post Covid visit and I was shocked and disappointed. - Basic maintenance has not been completed. For example, there is a glass elevator that goes to Blu their rooftop restaurant. This elevator was out of order and when I asked why I was told “Covid.” Covid travel restrictions were lifted a long time ago and that’s no excuse. In a second example, we returned to our room after a long night and the key did not work. It turned out the battery in the electronic device on the door needed to be replaced and the front desk understand the issue immediately, so this must happen often. Good hotels replace these batteries on a schedule so the guests never suffer from dead batteries. - Service, which used to be outstanding?@, is now unacceptable. First, the English language skills of most employees we encountered were sub par. Second, the person who checked me in was being trained, so the check in process was very slow. Third, service at the poolside bar during lunch was slow, the waitstaff inattentive and they failed to include my banana shake on the bill so as we are leaving the grab us and give us a second bill to pay. Fourth, service at breakfast was terrible. I had to ask for black tea three times before I got it, seeking some out 3 times as no one ever came to check on us. When we arrived around 9 AM there was no bacon (later replenished with bacon that looked so bad I did not even try it, fatty and not crisp), there was 1 banana, which was never replenished, there were no juice glasses (later replenished). The food quality was adequate but not nearly up to pre-Covid standards. Overall the service was lacking. - I was also disappointed that the lobby lounge, which used to have live music every night now has piano music only and only 1 night per week I am told. - There was a cart of dirty linens in our hallway both days Some of these things are not expensive or hard to fix. It doesn’t cost a lot to have live music in the lounge nightly as there are lots of singers groups looking for opportunities. It doesn’t cost a lot to make sure you change door card batteries regularly Others are basic requirements if doing business. For example you don’t leave a glass elevator to one of the most expensive restaurants in Cebu out of order for month/years. I am purchasing a condo unit in Marco Polo residences and expected to regularly visit the hotel for meals/drinks, but if this is the quality and service we can expect, then I will not be utilizing their services.

The room is clean as always. Bathroom is spotless and no smell. Its good for budget hotel and location is accessible, although it is difficult to catch taxi when you are in a hurry. Overall it is a cheap and nice place to crash from traveling.
