Occidental Ljubljana

Being in the city center, I could walk to almost all the attractions and tour departure points. Thanks to that, I didn't have to use the bus even once.

The hotel's location is excellent, close to all the main attractions, and there are many great restaurants nearby. The hotel breakfast is also superb, especially the wide selection of fresh European breads in the morning. The front desk staff were very helpful too.

1. The room felt much smaller than 20 square meters, it was incredibly tiny. 2. Basic amenities like toothbrushes and slippers weren't provided. 3. The toilet design was flawed; it would spray water out every time it was flushed. 4. Parking was extremely expensive. 5. Breakfast was decent. 6. The luggage rack was poorly designed; I kept bumping my head on the cabinet corner above it when putting luggage on it, which was quite painful!

This is a relatively new hotel. The rooms are spacious and bright, well-equipped with a king-sized bed, and breakfast is plentiful. It's about a 20-minute walk from the main bus station, but it's right next to the Old Town and has a large supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient. The breakfast spread is great, with a wide variety of fruits. My only minor complaints are due to the hotel's trendy design, which sometimes goes a bit too far in its pursuit of style: the entire wall is a large glass panel. It's lovely for street views during the day, but pulling the curtains at night is a hassle. Also, there's no privacy when stepping out of the shower, forcing you to dry off and get dressed in the wet bathroom itself.
