An absolutely delightful stay at InterContinental! Location: The hotel is perfectly situated at the confluence of the Liuyang and Xiang Rivers, right next to Beichenhui Joy City. There's a direct walkway from the hotel lobby into the mall, making dining, entertainment, and shopping incredibly convenient. It's also a comfortable 5-7 minute walk to Beichen Delta Metro Station, passing other malls like Fenghuanghai along the way. The surrounding area is a residential neighborhood with plenty of local eateries on the ground floor shops. Room: As a member celebrating a birthday, I was upgraded to a balcony room directly overlooking the Xiang River. The view was expansive and unobstructed. The 270° balcony essentially offered panoramic views. Unfortunately, it rained heavily in Changsha over the weekend, so visibility was poor due to heavy mist during the day, though it improved slightly in the afternoon and evening. From the lounge, you can enjoy views of the Changsha Library area, or step out onto the outdoor balcony for a different perspective. Ambiance: The facilities are still very new. The lobby bar is spacious, and the first-floor breakfast restaurant had far more seating than I anticipated. The overall decor is very stylish. It's also very comfortable to just sit and relax in the first-floor lobby. Food: I experienced the lounge's happy hour, breakfast, and the main lobby breakfast. They offered local specialties like liangfen (cold noodles) and rice noodles. There was a wide variety of Western and Chinese options. The Western selection had a good number of delicious baked goods. The bar was quite busy in the mornings with many people getting coffee and tea. Service: The service was incredibly warm, meticulous, and professional. During check-in, the front desk staff introduced us to all the hotel's functional areas and features. A special thank you to Cathy for her outstanding contribution to our stay. Since we were celebrating my partner's birthday, Cathy thoughtfully arranged decorations and a welcome dessert for us. Throughout our stay, she responded to our inquiries quickly and professionally and actively addressed my previous requests. My partner described the entire stay as comfortable, surprising, and heartwarming. Once again, thank you to Cathy for her professionalism and dedication. And thanks to all the staff for their service, which made us feel right at home. I'm very much looking forward to returning to InterContinental Beichen when the mountains are ablaze with autumn colors!

The hotel's location is excellent, right at the confluence of the Xiangjiang and Liuyang rivers. Our room had a northern view, overlooking the Changsha Museum, Library, and Music Center, offering a broad and open panorama of the city's relaxed and comfortable vibe. The room layout was well-designed, with a smooth flow, making all functional areas convenient to use. The lounge's snacks were quite good, and the cocktail making was self-service. Downstairs, one side leads directly to the Beichenhui commercial complex, while the other opens to the riverside greenway, making shopping and strolling very convenient. There's also a small sports center nearby where you can play tennis, squash, badminton, etc., making it a very comfortable choice for a vacation. Finally, a big thank you to rarity and Sera for their enthusiastic assistance; the service was excellent and very personalized.

The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable. Winnie provided excellent service! She called me in advance and added me on WeChat. My child needed some homework printed, and she promptly helped me with that. I'm very satisfied with both the service and the hotel. [rose emoji]

Although the hotel is a bit old, it's well-maintained. Its location at the confluence of the Xiangjiang and Liuyang rivers is quite convenient. The dining is also good, and the views are excellent. Plus, there's a shopping mall right downstairs.

It was cold and rainy outside, about 12-13 degrees Celsius, and there was no heating in the room. I was told it was a central air conditioning system, and the in-room panel couldn't adjust for heat! I really can't understand why a five-star hotel's AC doesn't have heating or individual temperature control. I didn't have time to eat breakfast and wanted to pack it myself. The staff repeatedly insisted that only she could pack it for me. I kept stressing that I wanted to pack it myself, and then she followed me around the entire time I was packing in the dining area, not leaving my side for a second! My room included two breakfasts, and I only needed two takeaway boxes – I don't understand why I was treated with such suspicion. My stay was really disappointing… Poor value for money, I won't be staying here again.

This hotel's location is truly excellent, right at the confluence of the Xiang River and Liuyang River, offering unparalleled river views. The hotel seems to have been around for a while, and the facilities are decent, with a pleasant overall environment. What I was most dissatisfied with was the service. There was no turndown service, and the room cleaning was quite careless. At breakfast, the staff seemed oblivious; we asked a server to clear our finished plates, and she said 'just a moment' but then went to clean other tables and never came back for ours. The best part was their breakfast bread – it was absolutely delicious! 😋

The hotel is a bit on the older side, and the facilities also feel a little dated. The breakfast spread was huge and varied, but the 'guā liáng fēng' (a type of cold noodle dish) wasn't very authentic. They probably made it that way to cater to guests from other regions, haha.

The only good thing about this hotel is the river view. The facilities are really old and run down. At night, the sink was leaking quite a bit. The staff asked if I wanted to switch rooms, and I asked, 'Do you even have any available?' The staff then said they'd have to check. So why bother asking me if I want to switch in the first place? Then I asked for an extra blanket, and the hotel said they had none because they were fully booked – not a single spare blanket! The breakfast tables were filthy and hadn't been wiped clean at all. I asked a female server with glasses to wipe it, and she replied, 'That won't come off!' How can obvious food stains and rice grains not come off? I ended up using an alcohol swab to clean it myself!

This feels like an older hotel, and the room facilities are quite dated. The price was a bit higher during the Chinese New Year, but there wasn't really any superior experience. It's probably more suitable for large senior tour groups to stay together. I likely won't be staying here again.
