Desti Youth Park Changsha

Clean and hygienic, very close to all the attractions, super convenient. There are plenty of entertainment options too, like musical instruments, billiards, board games, and even Werewolf.

I saw mixed reviews before, but my stay far exceeded my expectations. The hygiene was impeccable, and there's even a laundry room. Everyone was very considerate at night, so there was no noise. It was a fantastic stay.

I always find that every backpacker hostel has an amazing location! I was so pleasantly surprised by this one in Changsha – the Xiang River is right outside! Who can understand the feeling of sitting by the river enjoying the evening breeze? There's a bus stop downstairs, too! Super convenient, I love taking the bus 🚌, and the subway station is also nearby! A unique feature of this hostel is that the front desk and accommodation areas are separate, which is something I've never seen before, hehe. The front desk area is especially large and spacious! You can even sit by the entrance and enjoy the breeze – Changsha can get quite hot. The accommodation area is on the third floor! It's so big, you could easily get lost! This is my third time staying at a backpacker hostel, and this little one is really great, offering a full experience. I still haven't had time to play Werewolf, which I've been wanting to do, haha. Every day I just come back to wash up and rest after exploring on my own! I'm determined to experience backpacker hostels all over the country!

The front desk staff were nice and offered free luggage storage. The beds and room were decent. While it's a mixed-gender dorm and you might see guys when you step out, it generally wasn't an issue. However, between 12 AM and 2 AM, when I went to the restroom, there was standing water everywhere near the entrance. Even though the shower room floor had dried by then, there was still a puddle at the entrance. At 12 AM, I saw a cleaning lady tidying up, and I thought she'd dry the floor, but later when I went in, I still stepped right into the water – it was impossible to avoid. Also, they only provide towels, no toothpaste or toothbrushes. For a 10-person dorm at this price, the value for money is quite low. You can tell some people are long-term residents, as they were drying clothes in the room. The location isn't particularly convenient to anything. This Changsha branch is over 600 meters from the nearest subway station, so it would be better to book something directly in Wuyi Square instead.

This hostel is my happy place!!! I love eating with everyone, and I love having a craft beer by myself in the lobby, listening to music, watching movies, and just relaxing! It's my own special time!
