Hyatt Regency Changshu Kuncheng Lake

Traveled with my child during the Qingming Festival. The hotel is located near Kuncheng Lake Scenic Area and isn't too far from other attractions. Situated in a high-rise, it offers pleasant views, though the dirty windows were a bit of a damper. Despite requesting a family-friendly setup and getting the hotel's agreement when booking, I was informed upon arrival that no such facilities were available, which was quite disappointing. There's also no kids' club, which is something families with children should consider.

The hotel is clean and comfortable, with all rooms located on higher floors. The lobby on the 37th floor offers expansive views of the city and lake. The showerhead even has a massage function, which was very relaxing.

For our Changshu trip, we chose the Hyatt Regency Changshu. Its location is convenient for visiting Yushan Mountain and Shanghu Lake Scenic Area. Our room on the 30th floor offered an expansive view, which was truly uplifting. The room decor was modern, featuring novel materials (like in the mini-bar). The bathroom layout was distinctive and user-friendly. Both the Chinese restaurant and the buffet restaurant served fresh ingredients and tasted great. Every staff member we encountered was energetic and polite, making us feel incredibly welcome. The wooden, eco-friendly key card was a unique touch. All these details truly reflected the Hyatt's excellent quality. We were very satisfied with our stay. Many thanks to all the staff at Hyatt Regency Changshu.

To be honest, I was quite disappointed this time. I booked the Regency Club, but this was the worst afternoon tea and happy hour I've experienced at any Hyatt I've stayed at. For afternoon tea, besides drinks, there was only one type of pastry in the fridge. For dinner, there was only one hot dish each of beef, mushrooms, hash browns, Korean rice cakes, and rice. It's the poorest selection I've encountered in any Hyatt property so far.

Visited Changshu during the Chinese New Year and stayed at the Hyatt, which is located in the city's tallest building, owned by Bosideng. The mini wontons at breakfast were delicious. We enjoyed fireworks in the evening and a lively lion dance performance in the morning, making for a festive New Year celebration.

On my previous stay, I noticed the pool was being outsourced. When I returned later, I found that the quality had significantly declined since the outsourced team took over. I personally witnessed the lifeguard not at their station on the high chair, but instead lounging on a sofa, scrolling on their phone, playing loud videos, and even making video calls on speakerphone. They also frequently left the area, leaving guests unsupervised in the pool. It was shocking… I’ve never seen such unprofessional lifeguards at any gym or pool. The pool staff's negligence is a serious dereliction of duty and poses a clear safety hazard, completely falling short of five-star hotel standards.

This hotel is located by Kuncheng Lake, a landmark building in Yucheng. It's very convenient if you're driving, though the surrounding area is a bit undeveloped. The room was spacious, clean, well-equipped, and the service attitude was good. By Hyatt standards, breakfast was a bit ordinary. For dinner, we had a pre-booked set menu, but two dishes were unavailable and had to be changed last minute, which really shouldn't happen.

I'd been wanting to stay at this hotel for ages, so I booked two rooms for my friend's birthday. They said they'd prepare a birthday cake for us, but when we arrived, it was a tiny mini-cake. Compared to the complimentary birthday cakes at other five-star hotels, this was the most perfunctory and basic one – quite shoddy! The service was very good, and the environment was great. However, the biggest complaint has to be that the hotel's air conditioning is centrally controlled. It was sweltering hot all night, and my friend and I were so uncomfortable that we had to leave the door half-open to sleep. We barely got any rest that night. It's my first time staying in a hotel where you can't control the AC. Speechless. I hope they can improve this, otherwise, it really doesn't justify the price.
