This hotel is situated directly on the port-the epicenter of everything happening in Chania.
In hindsight, we probably should have expected a lively and very loud atmosphere.
This is no fault of the hotel; people are on holiday and naturally want to enjoy themselves.
We visited in May, which is considered a shoulder season month, yet the noise from others in the harbor and surrounding nightlife did not settle down till after 2:00 a.m. The port also comes alive very early in the morning, with activities, unfortunately we were additionally awakened around 7:00 a.m. by city workers performing repairs nearby.
Again, this was not the hotel’s fault, but it is important for future guests to understand that if a quiet, restful night’s sleep is your priority, this may not be the ideal location.
For travelers wanting to be in the epicenter of Chania’s energy, restaurants, nightlife, and harbor atmosphere, this hotel delivers exactly that.
The hotel’s staff did attempt to accommodate us by offering another room at a nearby property they own. Unfortunately, it was not to our liking, so we ultimately decided to leave. We requested a refund through *******, but were caught in the familiar back-and-forth between the booking platform and the hotel, with each directing responsibility to the other. In the end, we did not receive a refund — lesson learned on our part regarding third-party bookings.
