Teochew Minglin Mansion Reviews

My family and I chose Minglin Mansion for our trip to Chaozhou, and it was an absolutely amazing stay! We opted for the exclusive courtyard 'Jianshan Pavilion,' and once you close the courtyard gate, you enter your own quiet, private little world. The room was spacious and the hygiene conditions were excellent! I highly recommend staying at Minglin Mansion if you're visiting Chaozhou! 👍👍👍

Facilities: This time we stayed in the "Moonlight" room, and both the interior and facilities were exactly as described in the details. Personally, I felt all basic accommodation needs were met (I was so comfortable after arriving that I didn't take any photos of the room interior 😂); Cleanliness: The cleaning staff did an excellent job; they kept everything spotless during our extended stay and replenished supplies very well; Environment: Just like in the photos, it's a quaint, antique-style guesthouse with a classic charm~ Service: Superb! The staff were incredibly thoughtful~ My friend and I chose this guesthouse for our trip to the ancient city because we wanted to experience the local customs and culture up close. That's why we picked Minglin Mansion, a courtyard-style guesthouse converted from a Ming Dynasty official's residence, and it totally exceeded our expectations! 😆 Unlike the standardized hotel chains we usually stay at, the staff at Minglin Mansion provided incredibly attentive service even before we arrived in Chaozhou – from giving directions to recommending travel routes, from traditional local dishes to specialty snacks (many of their recommendations, my friend and I found to be truly authentic and unique from other places). It felt like listening to an old Chaozhou friend warmly introduce their hometown. Our three-day, two-night trip felt like staying at a local friend's house, so relaxed and chill~ While the vibe was relaxed, the staff's service, management, and rounds were all very professional and thorough~ Thumbs up! 👍🏻 (After the trip, I kept telling my friend that if we ever visit the ancient city again, we definitely have to try every room at Minglin Mansion! 🤣)

The B&B's location is excellent, very close to the old town, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. There are tons of great food places nearby, so you have plenty of dining options. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was lovely. I'm very satisfied with my stay and highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area.

The shower pressure was a bit low, but the bedding was really comfortable. The hotel is located inside Paifang Street, so cars can't access it, which is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The owner recommended Ah Qun's Claypot Porridge, and it was delicious!

This Ming Dynasty house has been beautifully renovated and boasts an excellent location. It's very convenient, being close to the ancient city gate and various attractions, allowing you to pop back for a rest anytime. I passed many guesthouses in the ancient city, and this was definitely the best one. The bed was comfortable, and the courtyard with its pond, small fish, and lounge chairs was a delightful spot to just sit and relax.

The guesthouse was pretty good overall. I originally booked for one night but extended for another. The host was very helpful and responsive, and the courtyard environment was also quite nice. It's suitable for a short stay of two nights.

This trip to Chaozhou was a spur-of-the-moment decision, and I was immediately drawn to this courtyard guesthouse I saw online. Although the price was a bit over my budget, I decided to go for it. And it turned out to be even better than I expected! The service and cleanliness were excellent, and the location is fantastic, right inside the ancient city's Paifang Street. It was so easy and enjoyable to explore the nearby area and try out different eateries on an electric scooter. I'll definitely stay at Minglin Mansion again next time I'm in Chaozhou.

The environment here is truly unique, exquisite, and clean. It's located right on Paifang Street, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, which is incredibly convenient.

The entire courtyard is well-maintained. Although it's close to the Paifang Street, it's not too noisy at night. I booked a twin room with a courtyard, which wasn't as spacious as I imagined, but the hygiene was good. The only issue was with the air conditioning's moisture, which made the room very damp. Luckily, there was an available room, and the owner moved us to a new one. The service was excellent. I hope they can fix this room defect in the future, then it would be perfect!

Location: Inside the ancient city, it's super convenient to go shopping, whether to Paifang Street or Guangji Bridge! Room: The air conditioning is strong, and it doesn't feel humid even on rainy days. Service: First-class!! Thumbs up! The customer service even recommended a lot of tips for dining, entertainment, and sightseeing. They also reminded us that night about the Yingge Dance performance! 👍

There is an alley walk in that takes about 8 to 10 mins to get into the mansion. The place is well maintained with good hygiene but got to be aware of mosquitoes as the area can be damp during rainy season.

The hotel is located within the ancient city walls, and the parking lot is about 800 meters away. It would have been better if the hotel offered a shuttle service. We're a family of three, and we booked a loft room, which was great because the two levels offered independent and private spaces. The only minor downsides were having just one bathroom, and its frosted glass door didn't have a lock. The toiletries were generic, without any specific scent. The hotel itself was quiet, a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. It was very convenient for exploring the ancient city, with various attractions easily accessible through the alleyways. However, the commercial offerings on Paifang Street were too homogenous; aside from the modern-era archways, the snacks were all pretty much the same and lacked any distinct character.

The hotel is conveniently located right at the entrance of the old town, making it easy to get around on foot. The environment is elegant, clean, and hygienic, and the front desk service is very thoughtful. The only minor downside is that the hairdryer in the room is quite weak; it takes over half an hour to mostly dry my hair.

Nice place but lots of mosquito. In old town which is nice place to stay.
