Borrman Hotel (Chaozhou Ancient City PaiFang Street)

This is a basic, no-frills hotel, good value for money, and conveniently located close to Chaozhou Ancient City with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The room was clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The restaurant they recommended was also excellent!

Facilities: Very comprehensive. Cleanliness: Spotless, and there's coffee and tea available downstairs at the hotel. Environment: Excellent, close to Chaozhou Ancient City. Service: The front desk lady was beautiful and kind-hearted; she upgraded my room for free, and I'm very happy with the room type.

This hotel is located just outside Paifang Street, about a 10-minute walk away. It's much quieter and more comfortable than staying directly on Paifang Street. The facilities are all new, clean, and well-maintained. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly. The rooms are spacious, and they even have a laundry room and a robot that delivers takeaways, which is a great touch! Definitely excellent value for money, highly recommend!

The hotel room was clean and spacious, and they upgraded me to a super comfortable 2-meter king-size bed! It's also very close to Chaozhou Ancient City. I'll definitely come back to Chaozhou and stay here again if I get the chance! It's a great hotel, and the showerhead was fantastic too! Highly recommend.

Having its own parking lot is super convenient for those driving to Chaozhou. We parked the car and then walked around. It takes about ten minutes to walk to Paifang Street, which is a nice stroll. There's a convenience store right downstairs. The hotel facilities are decent, the room isn't huge, but the 'large window' room we booked literally had a window that couldn't be opened, and it faced a rather eerie alleyway between residential buildings in an urban village. We ended up keeping the curtains tightly drawn. By the way, Chaozhou's braised goose and congee are absolutely delicious!

The room was clean and the service was generally satisfactory. It was quite spacious, and there were plenty of snack bars and restaurants nearby, which was very convenient. You could even walk to Paifang Street, taking about 20 minutes through the alleyways.

This hotel boasts an excellent location and offers parking, being incredibly close to Chaozhou Ancient City. You can easily walk to attractions like Paifang Street, Guangji Bridge, Xu Fuma's Mansion, Li Ancestral Temple, City God Temple, and Kaiyuan Temple. It's best to arrive early the day before to catch the 'crossing the river and demolishing the bridge' spectacle at Guangji Bridge. There are also two light shows at 8 PM and 9 PM. In between, you can grab a bite and head to Li Ancestral Temple for the Yingge dance performance. The hotel staff are warm and attentive. A special shout-out to the shower pressure – it's quite strong and feels like a massage, really helping you relax. They also provide excellent Gongfu tea and tea sets, which was a real treat. Plus, the hotel is very quiet and exceptionally clean.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the popular Chaozhou Ancient City, just a few minutes' walk from the southern entrance of Paifang Street, and also very close to the picturesque Chaozhou West Lake. The rooms are spacious and clean, with tidy and comfortable bedding. There's also an internal private parking lot, which is very convenient for self-driving guests. The price is quite affordable compared to other hotels of similar quality in the area, offering great value for money. However, there are a few areas that need improvement: 1. During breakfast, the restaurant's air conditioning was set to a strong cold mode. A staff member explained it was to dry the floor after mopping, but this made the dining area uncomfortably cold and negatively impacted the dining experience. Moreover, the air vents were directly above the food counters, causing the hot dishes to lose temperature quickly. This floor-drying task should ideally be completed before guests arrive for breakfast. 2. Restaurant service efficiency was low. Breakfast officially started at 7:30 AM, but the last dish wasn't served until 7:50 AM. Throughout this time, staff were constantly busy bringing out dishes and cutlery. 3. Some room types have windows, but they offer almost no natural light, making the rooms very dark due to obstruction from an adjacent building. This should be specifically mentioned on booking platforms. The front desk also has a responsibility to clearly communicate this to guests. Overall, the hotel is quite good, but attention to detail needs to be strengthened.

The room was clean and the location was great. There's a parking lot downstairs, and the front desk staff, especially the lady, provided excellent service. The breakfast was plentiful, and the mini wontons were absolutely delicious. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance.
