Huanghuagou Grassland Tourism Resort

The room was very clean. Since there was a big temperature difference at night, we turned on the heater to sleep. There were a lot of yurts, and they gave us two free tickets. They even upgraded other tickets to VIP, which was great value for money. Highly recommended!

Wanted to try out a yurt experience with the kids. I was a bit worried after reading some online reviews, but theirs was actually quite clean. The bonfire party at night was also really nice.

They provided a complimentary VIP pass for the hotel, and the facilities are relatively new. However, some walls show signs of water leakage and peeling paint. The yurt was well-cleaned, and the overall environment of Huanghuagou is quite good for a visit, though dining within the scenic area is rather expensive.

Avoid this place like the plague, it's absolutely filthy! It felt like I traveled all that way just to suffer. I'm not trying to badmouth yurts in general, but this one didn't even have basic sanitation. The toilet seat was broken and wobbly. The duvet cover was open, revealing a comforter that was dusty and stained inside – it looked like it had never been washed. The carpet on the heated bed (kang) had a musty smell. I had to layer my own towels and disposable bath sheets just to feel comfortable enough to sleep. Other than a tiny window in the bathroom, about the size of two palms, there were no other windows, making it stuffy and smelly, not to mention the mold and dust in the corners! As for the environment, it was incredibly noisy. There's a commercial street nearby with a lot of foot traffic, and a large group of people were walking around and talking loudly as early as 4 AM! I usually don't leave reviews, but this was a nightmare experience.

The front desk is too far from the hotel, and the service is practically non-existent. Breakfast ends at 9 AM, which is quite unusual. If you don't mind the hygiene, the guesthouses in the nearby village are better and livelier at night. Hygiene: For a yurt, the hygiene is very good. Environment: The environment is nice. Facilities: The facilities are also quite good.

The scenic area is huge, and if you stay overnight, your ticket allows you to re-enter for three days using facial recognition. With the 295 RMB package ticket, you can basically access all attractions within the park without waiting in line. The only unpleasant experience was that our two umbrellas were taken by someone else while it was pouring rain at the dining area, which was quite annoying. Also, the 360-degree video recording for the paragliding costs 800 RMB.

Avoid the RV rooms! There were multiple large moths, and they even provide fly swatters in the room, which makes sense now. The restaurant and restrooms at the visitor center were incredibly unsanitary. The main meals at the restaurant were expensive and tasted terrible. Breakfast was a chaotic free-for-all, with no staff clearing tables. In short, a terrible experience overall.

Escaping the concrete jungle for the vast grasslands, I definitely had to experience staying in a yurt! The scenic area offers a wide variety of activities and plenty of shops, including restaurants and convenience stores, catering to all budgets – very convenient. In the evening, there's a grand bonfire party with various performances and audience interaction, which was a lot of fun!

1. The service attitude was poor; they wouldn't help unless prompted. The cleaning lady and maintenance man seemed to just watch, defensive and enjoying the spectacle, which wasted a lot of our time. 2. Maybe it was bad "luck," but we had to switch rooms twice because the air conditioning was leaking, and in both cases, the water had already accumulated. Despite multiple repairs, they were reluctant to change our room and only did so after we spoke up forcefully. 3. The only upside: buying the 295 pass allowed us to go straight to VIP, which was great for avoiding queues during peak season.
