"Pros: The location is excellent, with plenty of halal dining options nearby and a small shopping mall just a few minutes’ walk away. The hotel is conveniently located about 25 minutes from the Mini Zoo and only 10 minutes from Desaru Beach. The room rates are affordable, and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a connecting room, which we greatly appreciated. The room was also clean and comfortable. Cons: One major inconvenience was that the refrigerator automatically switched off whenever we left the room. After spending a long, hot day outdoors, it was disappointing to return and find our drinks no longer cold. On our first night, we requested an extra towel and toothbrush set since there were three guests in the room. Unfortunately, the items were not delivered, even after we followed up at the front desk. There was also no floor mat provided. Thankfully, our experience improved the next day thanks to Zamre at the front desk. He was friendly, helpful, and made sure we received everything we needed. He also ensured our room was ready by 1 PM. Zamre’s excellent service truly stood out and made a positive difference to our stay. He is probably the main reason we would choose to return to Fives Desaru on our next visit. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money, and with improvements in housekeeping responsiveness, the experience would be even better."

"Even though it was almost fully booked over the weekend, the hotel offered a quiet getaway, as its premises is huge with a variety of amenities. Nature inspired decorations don the common areas. The room is spacious and clean, with a sizable balcony that overlooks the outdoor playground and the sea in the background. The local cuisine at the restaurant is tasty. Over the weekend, food carts were set up at the hotel lobby, selling local and western fares, providing alternative food options. The food that we tasted, pizza, satay and char koay teow, surpassed our expectations. The hotel may be short-handed at times so expect longer waiting time but the service staff tried their best to deliver their service, which is commendable."

"An old but gold hotel right in front of the beach, perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with a great view. While the property may be a little dated, it’s well-maintained and has all the essential amenities you need for a comfortable stay. The highlight for me was definitely the breakfast spread, it was excellent! There was a good variety including nasi lemak, noodles, porridge, and bread/toast, which made every morning enjoyable. What truly stood out was the service. The reception and restaurant staff were warm, friendly, and always helpful, making the overall experience even more pleasant. Overall, a charming stay with great hospitality and a fantastic beachfront location. Would definitely come back! 🌊"

"The room suite is spacious and clean. Private beach with water sports available. Facilities like swimming pool, water park, aviary, mini games arcade, mini zoo. Lots of activities at night. Children had a fun time blowing bubbles, playing arcade games, dancing etc.... There’s a wide variety of food choices available during buffet breakfast, and you can choose from three different restaurants to dine in for lunch and dinner(Seafood, steamboat, Korean, Indian). Convenience stores & gift shops available in the hotel. Helpful staffs. Highly recommended to all of you!"

"A great place for a relaxing vacation. It's affordable and offers good value for money. The hotel also includes breakfast, which is very comprehensive with a wide variety of delicious food. I highly recommend the Roti Canai – it's excellent. Overall, everything was great. The facilities are well-equipped, with towels and shower gel provided. You'll need to pick up toothpaste and toothbrushes from the front desk. There's a pool, beach, seaside access, a gym, and even KTV rooms. Some of these venues require advance booking or rental."

"It was nice staying here. I came with my mother, my husband, and our 4year old child, and we had a good time. The swimming pool area is really nice, especially having two pools. The beach is also nearby, so we could enjoy the view easily. However, ordering food at the Tiara Café is quite expensive. The balcony is very spacious, but unfortunately it was not clean hmmm there was bird droppings, so that definitely needs improvement. Also, the first bathroom did not have a heater, which was inconvenient. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but there are a few areas that need improvement."
