"The hostel is conveniently located just a minute's walk from the bus stop. It's also right next to the Dark Sky Project, which is great for those joining the night tours. You're greeted by a beautiful lake right in front, and there's a supermarket about a 5-minute walk away, which is very handy. Many guests make use of the kitchen facilities to cook meals with ingredients bought from the supermarket. Drinking water is freely available from a dispenser. Upstairs from the kitchen, there's a lounge area with a billiard table and board games. I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm, but there were only two of us, including myself. While there are lockers in the room, they don't come with keys, so it's a good idea to bring your own padlock if you need one. Towels and other essentials are available for rent, so you won't be in a pinch, but if you prefer to save money, you'll need to bring your own. Hair dryers are free to use. The shower pressure was good, and there was plenty of hot water. The room was warm and comfortable. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Tekapo."

"The location is absolutely fantastic! It's right opposite a gas station and not far from the entrance to the bridge leading to the Church of the Good Shepherd. There's plenty of parking available. Plus, there's a pizza and crepe food truck right next door. The restaurant on the first floor serves delicious food. And there's a bar nearby with amazing burgers – definitely better than Big Face Burger! The ********* woman at reception was incredibly helpful; she went above and beyond to make sure we had all the information we needed. We'll definitely stay here again! Even though it's near the road, it didn't really affect our sleep. And the room was super warm and cozy!"

"Lake Edge Holiday Park has a very convenient location with beautiful views overlooking Lake Tekapo. The facilities were quite complete and suitable for a comfortable stay. However, the hot water shower was limited to only 8 minutes per session, which could be inconvenient in colder weather. In addition, the shared bathroom/toilet and kitchen were located quite far from the accommodation area. Overall, still a nice stay for enjoying the scenery around Tekapo."

"Great location right by a beautiful lake — perfect for the scenery. The accommodation was generally clean and comfortable, and the bathroom in particular was well-maintained. The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, a toaster, and microwave. However, some of the cookware could use a proper clean as there is burnt residue on them, and a few of the stovetops don’t work reliably. Cleanliness could be improved overall, as there was some rubbish under the bed. The walls are quite thin, so noise can be an issue — you can hear people walking up and down, as well as doors banging from guests coming in and out of rooms. It’s worth noting that guests need to bring their own towels, make their own beds on arrival, and strip the sheets before leaving. Overall, a pleasant stay in a fantastic location, with just a few practical improvements needed."

"The hotel's location is across from a supermarket, but there's an uphill walk. The room was clean and tidy, but the facilities were old. We stayed on the third floor and there's no elevator, which made carrying luggage quite difficult. Plus, the soundproofing in the room wasn't great, so we could hear the wind at night."

"Not far from the supermarket and the Church of the Good Shepherd. Convenient for stargazing at night. Parking is very easy. The duplex townhouse has a kitchen, dining room, living room, and a bathroom on the lower floor, along with a utility room (possibly a linen room with bunk beds). Upstairs, there are three bedrooms: two with queen beds and one with twin beds. For our family of four, we even had a spare room. The space is very generous. Although we arrived quite late, the front desk had left a phone number to contact staff, and the key was ready for us to pick up directly. The cleanliness was also very good, it's just that check-out times in Australia and New Zealand are generally quite early. Everyone was very satisfied with this accommodation."

"This feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel. The facilities are quite new, and it seems to be part of a resort developed by Chinese investors. It's very close to the Church of the Good Shepherd and other town amenities, just a 3-minute drive away, making it ideal for self-driving travelers. The room decor is modern, and it's a pretty good option if the price is right. It comes with a kitchen and some basic utensils, but there weren't enough bath towels and hand towels in the bathroom. There was a note on the wall saying you could add staff on WeChat to request more supplies, but I didn't do that. The downside is that there's no daily room cleaning. On the second day, someone came to change the hand towels, but they said they'd bring bath towels later and never did, so the service is actually quite mediocre. Oh, and a huge bonus: you can see stars and the Milky Way right outside at night!"
