Stayed in the Boreham hotel just outside Chelmsford. Already the place was a winner as there are 8 fast chargers outside which was great. (Not entirely sure these were linked to premier inn but very handy). Staff very friendly and the stay, as usual was great. Comfy bed, decent size room and good hot shower. Breakfast was great, and the staff were lovely. Very quiet hotel especially as we stayed on a Saturday night.

We were originally booked in the Premier Inn Braintree but they had a fire so we went to Chelmsford Boreham. It's conveniently located on the outskirts of the town which useful for exploring the surrounding area. The car park is free and the staff are very friendly, especially Jasmine who was ever present at breakfast ensuring there was plenty of food in the food area. There's a pub adjacent which has a good restaurant with reasonably priced meals which we found very nice after a big day sightseeing.

Stayed for 3 nights/2 family rooms (plus other family members in 2 other family rooms - total of 7 adults and 6 children) Have stayed in a number of Premier Inns but this is definitely the friendliest we had ever been to. Jo, Jas & Dom were amazing, looking after adults and children. The breakfasts were outstanding. The hotel is small and definitely family friendly. The rooms were clean, tidy & comfortable. The location was ideal for our needs, free car parking, close to family living in the area, near a train station so easy access to London. I would definitely return if in the area & will recommend it to friend & family.....

I’d planned on a straightforward, quiet stay at Premier Inn Chelmsford Boreham, and that’s really not what I got. First, the positives: the staff were genuinely lovely. Special shout-out to Ann who checked us in, she was welcoming, efficient, and made a great first impression. Her manager (I’m really sorry, I’ve forgotten their name) also seemed professional and helpful. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. The biggest issue is the setup of the building. The hotel shares reception with a doctors’ surgery, so you’re walking through a waiting area of unwell patients every time you come in or out. It might be practical from a property point of view, but as a guest it’s pretty grim, and not exactly the relaxing start or end to your day. Then there’s the noise. The floorboards are so loose that anyone in the room above sounds like a herd of elephants. Being woken up at 2am because someone takes a few steps overhead is beyond frustrating, and it’s not something earplugs can fix. It’s a building issue, not a staff issue, but it ruins any chance of a decent night’s sleep. On top of that, there were repeated disruptions from other guests. One night a group of young lads were causing so much trouble the police had to be called. Then on my final night there was a party in room 129, directly opposite. I went down to reception to report it and Jay genuinely didn’t seem sure how to handle the complaint. What really shocked me was him suggesting I go back upstairs with him. That’s a dangerous position to put a guest in, full stop. He told me it had been dealt with, but it hadn’t, they were still partying, swearing, and shouting in the corridor at the top of their lungs. Overall, it was an utter shambles. I don’t blame the front desk for the building flaws, but the lack of effective handling of the disturbances, and the fact guests were left to deal with it, was unacceptable. I won’t be returning to this hotel, and after this experience I’m very unlikely to stay in a Premier Inn again.

Great reception staff for all of our two night stay. Friendly, obliging and helpful with local knowledge. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked poached eggs were perfect!! The room not only smelled fresh and clean but was spotless. This Premier Inn deserves recognition for its amazing level of service. Thank you guys.

Clare on reception was extremely friendly and welcoming! The hotel was all super clean and tidy. Found the bed very comfortable, including the pull-out kids bed. Our breakfast host, Jasmine, was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely; plenty of choice! The associated pub provided great food and a relaxed atmosphere. We were totally happy with our stay and would definitely recommend if you’re needing a place to eat and sleep when visiting the area.
