Stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it! As soon as I entered the room, complimentary fruit arrived. I immediately brewed some Maofeng tea and lit some agarwood incense, setting a serene, 'thatched cottage' mood. In the evening, my butler, Lili, proactively contacted me to arrange a buckwheat pillow, peach gum sweet soup, hot milk, and even a foot soak tub, plus extra Nongfu Spring water and agarwood. This whole series of gestures made me feel completely pampered. At my age, there's nothing more comforting than a good night's sleep. But that's not all – at the downstairs restaurant, I ordered the scallion-braised cod and boiled beef slices. Both were visually appealing and incredibly fragrant; a truly amazing, hidden gem on the menu. Although I didn't get to meet the chef, they must have honed their skills to perfection, as I unknowingly cleared my plate in appreciation. My trip was too short, otherwise, the food and accommodation here would have surely convinced me to extend my stay!

Among all the cities I've visited both domestically and internationally, Chengdu is the one I frequent the most. And Huajanta Hotel is the only place I repeatedly choose to stay when traveling there. Its elegant and rustic charm, unique to the Shu region, coupled with the meticulous attention to detail in its craftsmanship, is almost inimitable. As the cultural exchange center for the provincial museum, I'm sure scholars from the museum were involved in its design phase; the hotel's logo itself is a testament to this. Many hotels (including five-star ones) have interior room designs that don't stand the test of time; after 5-6 years without renovation, they become unpresentable. Huajanta is one of the rare hotels that withstands the passage of time. From its elegant and spacious lobby to the intricately carved classical solid wood furniture, exquisite four-poster beds, and writing desks, everything reveals a warm luster that only deepens with age. The service is also incredibly thoughtful and friendly. I'd like to thank our room attendant, Yanyan, for her warm-hearted service. Beyond the welcome fruit, she delivered daily milk, and even a foot bath bucket with mugwort sachets, all available simply by messaging her on WeChat. I'm especially grateful to the lovely manager at the front desk on the day of check-in – I forgot to ask her name – who promptly upgraded our room from an executive single to a VIP single on the 4th floor. The room offered a direct view of the lotus pond and the magnificent banyan tree beside it, with the museum building beyond. The room itself was spacious and grand, very comfortable, truly making us feel at home. About ten years ago, when I first stayed here, the rooms were already equipped with Nespresso capsule coffee machines, which I really appreciated. Even today, capsule coffee machines aren't standard in all five-star or boutique hotels. The breakfast restaurant, Du Lin Fang, maintains the hotel's consistent elegant style in its decor and furnishings. Along the lotus pond, there’s a row of private rooms with a unique scenic view, perfect for gathering with friends. The breakfast selection is quite rich, the noodle station is good, and the appetizers are excellent. The fried dough sticks, however, weren't to my liking. The DeLonghi automatic coffee machine is another highlight. The hotel's location is superb. A small gate leads directly into the provincial museum. Just across the wall is the large Huanhuaxi Thatched Cottage Park. Standing before the famous calligraphic inscriptions of Du Fu's 'Thousand Poems,' which blend seamlessly with the scenery, reciting the old poet and appreciating the masterful calligraphy is a rare pleasure. With these 'Thousand Poems' steles, Huanhuaxi is a uniquely charming scenic spot in the country, and it's completely free to the public. By Canglang Lake, sitting in the quiet and elegant Du Fu Cultural Center, ordering a cold brew, picking up a poetry collection, reading a few poems, and watching the egrets flutter over the lake – it's truly a moment of stolen leisure. Directly opposite the hotel is Caotang Primary School. Walking along the winding Xunxiang Road beside the Modi River and Xiaonan River, past Xianqiao and Shengxian Bridge, one arrives at Baihuatan Park and Qingyang Palace as if on a cloud. Wandering aimlessly, you might stumble upon the Long Chao Shou Huanhuaxi branch, with its exquisite facade and clean interior. Without the hustle and bustle, you can leisurely enjoy a delicious and affordable bowl of Long Chao Shou, along with various small noodles and stir-fries. Or head south to Baihua Alley and Baihua West Road, where the gentle evening breeze of late spring can give you the illusion of having wandered deep into a hundred flowers.

The property is very well designed and maintained. It deserves the top spot if you are tired of a cookie cutter type of hotels. We were not sure if it was a museum or hotel when entering the lobby! A shout out for 小李，she took good care of us and made reasonable recommendations for food and services.

No other hotel in Chengdu can rival the location of 成都浣花黌台酒店—this was even confirmed by our knowledgeable local tour guide. The hotel is uniquely situated within the grounds of the Chengdu Museum of Literature and History and the famous Du Fu Thatched Cottage (杜甫草堂). Considering that Chengdu is a bustling metropolis with over 20 million residents, dotted with towering high-rises, it's almost surreal how this hotel feels like a serene countryside retreat, surrounded by lush trees and blooming flowers. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and fully equipped with all the amenities we could need. The attentive and charming 小田田小管家 (our delightful hostess) greeted us with a heartwarming message morning and evening, always checking in to ensure our stay was flawless. She went above and beyond, offering fresh fruits, nightly treats like milk and *silver ear soup* (银耳汤), and even relaxing foot soaks—thoughtful touches that made us feel truly cherished. The level of care and hospitality here is unparalleled—genuinely heartwarming and unlike anything we’ve experienced before. I wholeheartedly recommend 成都浣花黌台酒店 to anyone visiting Chengdu. We can’t wait for our next visit!

I stayed here with a friend before and had such a wonderful experience that I added this hotel to my list of places to revisit if I ever traveled to Chengdu. I planned this trip to Chengdu because my son, who is obsessed with the Three Kingdoms, wanted to visit Wuhou Temple. I requested in advance that I stay in the same room I had stayed in, and they assigned us a room with a fantastic view and even provided an extra bed for my son. My mother also really liked the hotel, and the breakfast, which offered healthy options, was excellent. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to (田田), who quickly helped with various requests via WeChat. When we returned from our day out, they packed us warm soup, fruit, and foot bath powder, and I was truly grateful that they even helped find an item my child had left in a taxi. The location is also fantastic; it is right next to the Sichuan Museum, just a 5-minute walk from Du Fu Thatched Cottage, and you can reach anywhere within 10 minutes by taxi. To all Koreans traveling to Chengdu, I highly recommend this luxury hotel with its strong traditional atmosphere! (On the last day, my child left two Korean Three Kingdoms comic books on the lobby desk, and I was wondering if they are still being kept. I would like to be able to retrieve them on the next trip.)

The hotel boasts an excellent location next to Huanhuaxi Park and the Sichuan Museum, with a pleasant environment. Although it has been open for a while, the furniture and facilities are well-maintained and the hotel is very clean. The housekeeper, Lili, was very warm and promptly arranged various services. Who knows! Huanhua Hongtai Hotel is truly a hidden gem in Chengdu! The Chinese-style courtyard offers picturesque views at every turn, and the rooms are clean and elegant—even just lying down feels soothing! A special shout-out to my amazing butler, Xiao Liu! From bringing fresh fruit upon check-in to helping me find authentic local cuisine and resolving all sorts of small problems, she was quick, incredibly patient, and gentle like a friend, making my trip a truly blissful experience! I've already recommended it to my friends and colleagues, and I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Chengdu. Thumbs up to Xiao Liu!
