It was our first time staying at Lotus Hotel, and we had a bad experience from the start. When we arrived at reception, the staff told us there were no 2 rooms available on the same level. They asked us to wait 15 minutes while they checked, but we ended up waiting much longer with no clear update.
We had just arrived from the airport, were tired, and hadn’t had lunch yet. When we asked again how long we would need to wait, they still couldn't give us an answer. Eventually, we had to leave our luggage with the reception staff and go out to eat.
After lunch, we returned to the hotel and our rooms were finally ready. Unfortunately, the stay itself was uncomfortable. While the room was clean, the bed had a bad spring—probably due to its age—and the pillow was so flat that I ended up with neck pain. The toilet had a bad smell, and the shower area didn’t have any shelves to place our soap or toiletries.
Breakfast was also disappointing—the food was not nice. The TV connection was terrible, and the WiFi was very slow. We paid for both the hotel stay and breakfast but didn’t get a good experience in return.
The only positive point is the location, which is close to shopping areas like T Nagar and Pondy Bazaar.
