Stayed due to a business trip to Halifax. Very very cool and different style of Hotel, not your run of a mill Hotel thats for sure. You check in at the bar! Very new hotel, they just opened not so long ago, so i understand why certain hings will take longer then normal and there could be more mistakes then normal, like check out took a bit to long, the bartender did not know how to make certain drinks, or know which glass to serve them in. The conference room we booked did not have table plugs, speaker or camera tv system, HDMI cable to cast laptop on Screen was very short, not really any instructions found anywhere, it still felt that the conference room was still not completed yet. Rooms were very different, no desk for me to work on my computer, no chair either, stayed in a 1 queen bedroom, I did like the type of decor they had in there. Lots of board games and arcade style games in the lobby to entertain yourself with, breakfast was decent, and they give free candy snacks during the day at the bar! Ask the front desk that you would like to see the secret lobby, entrance is hidden behind a book case.

Brand new hotel conveniently located to the citadel. Cool vibe and interesting space-efficient design. Only downside is no inroom coffee or room service.

Air conditioning in the building and the room were not working. The room was 25 degrees and we cound not sleep all nifht. When we asked the reception said keep it on 19.5 it works. In the morning when checking out the saff rolled their eyes when we complained and asked for a manager to contact us which never occured. Cancelled bext week trip to the property. Things go wrong but the client contact with staff shouldnt be a problem shows lack of leadership. Not staying there again.

Reasonable price, clean comfy, and friendly. Good food, too, both at the Moxy and in the neighborhood. The only issue we had was that Uber drivers had trouble finding it/ getting to it because it’s new and it’s pretty much surrounded by construction. NOT the Moxy’s fault.

I'm leaving a 5-star review across the board because the staff were amazing and deserve recognition, but I will leave some suggestions for improving the experience at the Moxy. The hotel is brand-new, so it's obviously ironing out some of the wrinkles. 1) Please put at least 1 chair in each room. There's no space to work if you're there on business, which I was. There was a fold-out desktop space next to the bed, but without a chair, there was simply no way to work effectively from the room. I had to work from bed, which wasn't always ideal. Also, something as silly as putting on your socks and shoes. I literally had to sit on the floor of the hotel room because the bed was too high and there was no chair or any other piece of furniture to sit on. I also couldn't read by the window without a chair, which would have been nice since there was a decent view. 2) Each room needs a safe. When you're carrying a passport, valuables, or confidential work documents, then it's nice to be able to safeguard them when you're out. 3) Please tone down the autotuned club music blasting from the first-floor bar nearly all day long. I get that you need that ambience in the evenings when younger visitors are getting drinks, but the music was playing long before happy hour started, and a lot of the people staying at the hotel were older, so I can't imagine that they were target audience. 4) Please let people use the stairs. Not everyone likes elevators. Minor quibbles; you're off to a good start!

Very small room ,no dresser no night stands, no closet only two small pillows for two people. Water stained concrete ceilings. Only chair in the room was a backless camp chair hanging on the wall. The front desk was the also the bar. The music was so loud we couldn't hear the peson checking us in. Tv in the room only worked part time. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone even the people i don't like 😞

We are two 40 something friends and weren't sure if the Moxy would be a bit too "party" for us as whilst we enjoy a good bar, we also like a good sleep! However, we need not have worried - the room was comfortable, peaceful for sleeping and exactly what we wanted. We had the two Queen beds room, which was very nicely arranged. The lobby/bar area is really stylish and we enjoyed all of the food and drinks we had very much. Staff were great and really helpful. The Moxy is well located for walking to all the main attractions. We were delighted with our choice and would recommend!

Do not stay here if you wish to get some sleep and forget a late check out for 1pm as they don’t accommodate that. They also don’t accommodate free upgrades when there’s availability unless you’re a Marriott member. I have stayed at multiple chains of hotels and NEVER had any of these issues. The parkade is inconveniently located on a different street so if you’re not familiar with the area you have to drive around in a circle around the block to get to the parkade There is construction on the street and the building right next to it. They have this noisey cabinet in the hallway that’s called the stash cabinet that you can hear open and close by guests and house keepers It overall was not worth the stay given the price. This hotel should have been priced around $100 a night not $300

New hotel still under construction. Room was a bit sparse, no seat except to sit in the bed. Bathroom was spectacular and large. Parking cost is average-ish but there are cheaper options very close to this hotel. Interior parking on several levels that are all painted pink. We selected the wrong parking floor in the elevator and we thought our vehicle had been stolen, perhaps a different colour would help or better signage in the elevator. Staff were very nice although a bit slow, but I guess growing pains.
