Agriturismo la Pietriccia

La Pietriccia is the perfect product for those choosing to explore Southern Tuscany - be it walkers, serious hikers or cyclists. It’s a glorious part of Italy. We stayed 5 nights (one shouldn’t stay less) and walked each day - albeit one of these was to nearby village of Chianciano Terme for lunch. Our smallish but most comfortable apartment 13 was well equipped with kitchenette, modern bathroom and most comfortable bed. The property has numerous room types available and offers a package with full breakfast and dinner - food is very good. The colourful Stefano is host and cook. Guided walking packages are available (where he or one of his team will pick you up after your hike) - we chose to “go it alone” as we had our own car for drive ‘n walk some days. Stefano was still helpful in providing/loading trails on a GPS app which worked without a hitch. One of our best Italian experiences

We stayed in this lovely agriturismo in September. We were here for a walking holiday in Tuscany. We were met by Simon who checked us in and a welcome drink. Our room was superb and had a large balcony which overlooked the vineyard and the beautiful town of Chianciano Terme. That evening we were treated to the first of the dinners that were included in our stay. All the produce is either grown on site or local to the area. The breakfasts were very nice and I must say the omelettes were superb. We met Stefano the owner and he was brilliant in helping to organise our walks with a walking app which we followed. In the evening he was present at dinner and if you didn't like a particular item on the menu he would offer an alternative. He was also helpful in suggesting restaurants on our walks as well as things to see and visit. The weather was very hot at about 32- 33 degrees so he was very good with another group of people who were older in shortening their walks to make it easier for them. The main town is walkable but on an incline as its up on a hill. Pienza is another beautiful town as is Montepulciano. I must also thank his staff who were brilliant-Salman and the girls at breakfast too. Would thoroughly recommend this place to stay if you are walking or cycling. I took the cooking class with my family on our Rick Steves tour. Besides having such a fun time, the food we prepared was wonderful. We got all the recipes too. I am getting together with most of our family group today and will bring the Gratin tomatoes.

We enjoyed our visit at this agri tourismo. Stefano presented his farm to table philosophy and then we had the chance to hand make pasta, sausage, pesto and desserts. As part of a Rick Steves tour it was a great experience. A unique outing for Americans where the farmer produces such a big variety of product including hogs, grapes, olives plus a variety of fruits and vegetables on about 50 acres.

This was our second visit and as before Stefano and the team are running a fantastic business. Amazing hospitality, local knowledge,location, swimming pool, sun terraces, food, wine etc, with strong AC and Wi-Fi. The food is amazing: all Local, all delicious. We travelled by train and they will be happy to organise a pick up or other trips for reasonable rates, It is only a few km from the A1 so perfect for a 1 or 2 night stop off while travelling by car through Italy.

Lovely property situated short drives away from Montepulciano and other villages. There is a supermarket 5 minutes away. Pool was nice and refreshing with beautiful views. Breakfast and dinner were great.

My extended family of 13 (11-83) spent 4 nights at this wonderful agritourismo. The peaceful setting and unbelievable view of the nearby hill city of Chianciano Terme are only the start of what is great about this place. The farm includes a vineyard and olive orchard as well as swimming pool and play area for children. We had dinner in their restaurant 3 nights - delicious 4 course meals prepared with the "slow food" method, all organic, as well as a plentiful breakfast each morning. We all participated in a cooking class as well, helping to prepare our dinner for that evening - class was so fun and enjoyed by all. The location of the farm makes it easy to visit an assortment of picturesque hill cities and Stehano was a great help in selecting the cities we visited. Comfortable beds and excellent air-conditioning. We would love to return here again.
