We stayed 3 nights at Villa Lantara and really enjoyed our time there.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful, a real highlight of our stay.
The location is great: about a 10-minute walk from the old city center, surrounded by plenty of restaurants, and very close to the weekend night markets. The building itself has a charming old-Chinese architectural style, even though it’s only around five years old.
Our room was located at the back of the building and was extremely quiet. I can imagine that the rooms facing the street, with balconies, might be noisier, but for us it was perfect.
There’s a small lift for luggage, but guests use the stairs. It wasn’t an issue for us.
The room was very spacious, with elegant Chinese-style wooden decor, a comfortable queen-size bed, and excellent cleanliness, housekeeping came daily. We also appreciated the generous amenities, including two free bottles of water and two cans of soda (Sprite or Coca-Cola) every day.
The bathroom was large and featured a nice rain shower.
If anything could be improved, it would be the breakfast. The buffet is quite small, and you have to choose your hot dish separately. It was fine, but nothing remarkable compared to the rest of the experience.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend Villa Lantara to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.
