Royal Panerai Hotel Chiangmai Reviews

Originally, I only booked for four nights, but then I extended my stay for two more nights. The overall experience was great; the room was big and clean, and the service was excellent. The tap water was also very clean. For the price, it was definitely worth it. The location is also fantastic, with a small river right outside for walks.

Conveniently located near the Old City moat and a 7-Eleven. There are also restaurants nearby. Check-in was easy.

I was amazed in the price I paic for this hotel. So much spacious and complete amneties with free coffee. Its near to the tourist areas.

I stayed in a corner room a few days ago and the Wi-Fi signal was terrible. It only became normal after I moved to a room near the elevator.

The location is not suggested during the Water Festival. The street here is so busy and can't even get out.

The hotel's location is quite convenient, pretty much within 1 km of everything. There's a decent vegetarian restaurant nearby called Shan Food. Wat Chiang Man is peaceful and pleasant if you go early in the morning. There's a 7-Eleven right outside the hotel, and fruit vendors selling small bags for 20 baht. In the evenings, there are stalls setting up outside, selling grilled skewers, most for 10 baht. They taste great, I went every day. Just a heads-up, the hotel no longer provides hair dryers in the rooms, but you can request one from the front desk with a deposit.

It is an ok hotel and the room is spacious and the bed good—-but there were some issues. There was some noise from an outside air conditioner. Also there was a balcony that was locked and in a run down condition. I attach a photo of this. At night there was a light on the balcony that could not be turned off, although the curtain could be pulled across to block out some of the light. I also I could not book for further days. I initially booked for one night. Further nights were not available. But in the morning I was able to book for a further night on trip.com. I was in the same room but they did not service the room and only left two bottles of water outside the door. So the next day I wanted to book again but it was not showing on trip.com. I was then told I could pay in cash but the price was double. So I moved to another hotel about a kilometre and a half away. I then looked at trip.com and the room was available at the same price. I am very displeased about this as I should have had the option of extending at the same price. I would like a response from management as to why this happened.

The hotel's main advantage is its cheap price. However, there are a lot of mosquitoes, so it's best to keep the windows closed. This also helps block out the traffic noise from outside. Overall, it's just okay for the price.

Do not stay here — worst place I’ve seen in Chiang Mai. I don’t usually write reviews, but this place pushed me to. Do not stay here — it’s the worst place I’ve experienced in Chiang Mai. The hygiene is unacceptable: the bedsheets had BLOOD STAINS, and the balcony was covered in old bird droppings that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Service was also very poor, and the receptionist’s attitude felt disrespectful. I understand there can be a language barrier, but Thailand is usually warm and welcoming — this place was not. Avoid in any case.
