The location is 1+ hr to Alishan.it’s beautiful view. There’s bus to Alishan every hours but not many.i recommend it you take the tour but if you really wanna take bus please take early morning before 8 am,otherwise it’s too full. There’s cafe and convenience store near by. The owner very very helpful, please ask the neighbour if you need a help, they’re very kind. Bus stop to city is Xiding(elementary school) 200mtrs.bus stop to Alishan opposite the hotel.

For those seeking to experience staying in a bare basic homestead in a tea plantation village, then this place might be of interest. It is like staying overnight in a villager’s home. If you rely on public transportation, the Dong Xiding bus-stop (on bus #7322) is right in front of the property while Xiding bus-stop (on bus #7329A) is just 400m walking distance away. Both buses ply the Chiayi-Alishan Forest Recreation Area route. Price point wise, though expensive for the facilities provided, it’s still relatively cheap compared to hotels around the same locality.

The only downside was the limited number of power outlets in the room.

The owner's breakfast was delicious, and they were very kind. Some of the decorations were adorable and artistic. The scenery was picturesque, with Elephant Mountain right across the way. No wonder it's called 'Elephant's Sky' – there are indeed many elephants around!

You can find it by going up the slope opposite the gray house, which is across from the East Xiding Bus Stop. However, as soon as I arrived, the neighbor's dog started barking. There was no staff when I got there; I had to call the owner. The neighbor's grandma helped out. After 8:30 PM, there was no running water, though there was still water for handwashing. Overall, it was clean. There's a restaurant (with hot pot) right across from the guesthouse, at the bus stop. They also offer pre-ordered lunchboxes (available for pickup at 11 AM the next day). Walking towards the elementary school, there are convenience stores and restaurants, which is handy. The landlady is very chatty. Fireflies can be seen nearby (see pictures). After rain in August and September, I even saw a super giant, perfect rainbow, and sometimes even a double rainbow. The guesthouse lobby entrance displays the daily sunrise and sunset times. There were groups of three to five flies at the entrance and in the lobby. The lobby has menus, poetry collections, tourist information, tea bags (they smell wonderful even without brewing, and the brewed tea is very layered), coffee grounds, and a kettle. The tables are made from old sewing machine bases. The shower gel was my favorite verbena scent. After eating in the lobby, I had to walk quite a distance to wash my hands, which was inconvenient. There was no hot water for handwashing in the kitchen. Every time someone walked by, the neighbor's dog would bark. **Dorm Room Experience:** I really liked the bed curtain material. The bed was very comfortable. The bamboo blinds and wooden ceiling were great. There were many storage cubbies and lockers (each cubby was assigned to a bed). But there were no actual lockers. And for some reason, even though we were in the same room and paid the same price, another bed didn't have a bed curtain, no power outlet by the bed, and no storage cubbies under the bed. It felt like differential treatment. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, the neighbor's dog would bark. Breakfast was very filling; the egg pancakes were already cut into pieces, which was thoughtful; the blueberries were very sweet; the mushrooms had a buttery aroma; the edamame was cold and seasoned like salted chicken. The coffee grounds were specially blended by the owner's friend and cannot be bought elsewhere. If guests weren't present during meals, the landlady would cover the food with tissue paper, but flies still got close. I suggest using a plate to seal the surface. **Double Room (with private bathroom):** The room was large, the bed was large, the bathtub was large, and it had mountain views. **Twin Room (shared bathroom):** Simple and sufficient.

I slept on one of the top bunks in a four-person room. In the four-person room, two beds had curtains for some privacy, but the other two didn't. I had absolutely no privacy when I slept, and I think this is an area that needs improvement. Other than that, everything else was good. But if the curtain issue isn't fixed, I probably won't choose this hostel again.

The breakfast was plentiful with a great variety of dishes. The guesthouse owners were warm and friendly, and the room and shared bathroom were very clean. I'd love to stay here again if I have the chance.
