Fenchihu Hotel

The location is great, perfect for a one-night stay before heading to Alishan National Scenic Area the next morning. The bento boxes here are delicious, especially the pork chop – it's incredibly tender!

The bed, bathroom, and floor were clean and tidy. The ceiling had a wooden design, and the four walls featured a bamboo weave pattern, fitting perfectly with the mountain and forest atmosphere. It would be even better if more attention could be paid to improving the cleanliness of the windows.

Traveling to Alishan, we decided to stay a night in Fenchihu. Luckily, we were able to book a room at the Fenchihu Hotel. There's a bento shop on the first floor, and guests get a NT$10 discount. The restaurant on the top floor of Building B offers breathtaking panoramic views. Our room was very comfortable, spacious, and even came with a dehumidifier. We left our shoes at the entrance, and there was a pair of slippers provided in the bathroom. Overall, a great experience!

The environment was great, and they were thoughtful enough to arrange a lower floor for my elderly family members. The braised ribs in the bento box were incredibly tender and flavorful. The front desk lady was very kind and even helped us find a taxi driver to take us to Alishan, which made our trip go smoothly.

The environment, hygiene, service, and location are all excellent. However, the room was quite warm and the air conditioning was very noisy.

I chose this place because of its location right in Fenqihu Old Street, making shopping and exploring easy. It's also super convenient for hitting the nearby walking trails. There's no dedicated parking, but on weekdays, it was a breeze to snag a free roadside spot nearby. Weekends would be a different story though; if you don't arrive before 9 AM, you're out of luck even if you're willing to pay. The room facilities are a bit dated, and there's no air conditioning, just an external exhaust fan for ventilation. I imagine it would be quite uncomfortable in the summer, but thankfully, the April nights were still very pleasant. My baby absolutely loved the tatami room, with all that open space to crawl around freely and happily.

This is a truly wonderful hotel with exceptional service and very attentive staff. I stayed in a Japanese-style room, which was comfortable and cozy. For breakfast, they provide a NT$100 voucher for the 7-Eleven located in the same building.
