This is one of the most satisfying and value-for-money hotels I've stayed at in the US. I would definitely choose it again.
There are many pros: The decor is very new, with fully automated curtains and lighting. The service is also good. The elevators are always available, no waiting. Many places are within walking distance. Every room has a kitchen and microwave. Free breakfast every day, etc.
Let me elaborate on the cons:
1) The deposit is $100 per night, with a maximum of $500. Although the deposit was refunded quickly, $500 is indeed a bit high.
2) I was often woken up by the sound of police cars and ambulances on the street in the middle of the night. I understand that city security is generally poor at night, but light sleepers might be bothered by this.
3) At 3 AM, just before checkout, the front desk suddenly called to say there was a dessert delivery for our room. I was woken up for no reason. Of course, the next day, the front desk couldn't find any record of it and just offered a casual "sorry."
4) Although there are bedside lamps in the room, all the ceiling lights are spotlights and their brightness cannot be adjusted. Sometimes it feels so bright it hurts my eyes.
5) The breakfast selection varies slightly each day, but there's always a queue. If you go down late, some items will be gone.
