Apparently my father stayed there a long time ago, and I was surprised at how much had changed. The front desk doesn't feel as old as the reviews say. The manager himself took care of all the steps during check-in and check-out, and he was very friendly, so I had a very good impression of him. There's a self-service room at the front desk (lol), so you can put your yukata, towels, toiletries, etc. in your own bag and take them to your room, which makes me feel at ease. The room we stayed in this time was in an annex building, with stairs going up and down from the middle. Perhaps because it was in an annex, the rooms and equipment were new. It has everything you need more than a normal hostel. It's clean and the washroom is big. Of course, the toilet is a washlet. Each room has an open-air bath. If you're going this far on your own, I don't think it would be a problem to do the futon laying yourself. You can use the private bath once for free, but I gave it to my family and went to the public bath. Get a free drink before entering the hot spring, and another free drink after entering the hot spring. This felt like a luxury. When entering the changing room, there is an automatic door and a locker with a key, so it is clean. The temperature of the water in both the large public bath and the open-air bath doesn't change much, from moderate to slightly hot, and the sulfur smell is about average for Kamiyamada Onsen. There is also a place for children. The open-air bath in the guest room smelled more like sulfur than the large bath. Maybe it's because it's fresh because it's filled with hot spring water. It's just too hot. When I turned off the hot water and took a bath after dinner, the temperature finally reached the right temperature. For dinner, there are three dishes to light. The rest, except for the chawanmushi, were a little cold. Well, it's a self-service accommodation, so I'm prepared for this. What was interesting was putting the rice in an ohitsu and bringing it to the table by yourself. It was my first time doing something like this. It's good to eat by yourself (lol) I think there are many people who don't have enough food, but depending on the plan you can have all-you-can-drink soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as all-you-can-eat ice cream, so you'll be full. However, the breakfast was really lacking. It was at a disappointing level. I wish there was at least a way to eat ice cream... The parking lot was a bit small, which was a shame. Also, I didn't feel like going to the lobby where free drinks were available, probably because there was a lot of stairs to climb in the annex. However, there was a drip pod in the room, so I didn't want to go that far to get juice. There is also an open-air hot spring bath in the room. If you don't like walking, we recommend the main building. You can easily go back and forth using the elevator. I thought that if I were to go there next time, it would probably be in the winter.
