InterContinental Hotels CHONGQING RAFFLES CITY by IHG

Because of one hotel, I thought of one city, and because of the InterContinental Raffles City Chongqing, I chose to visit Chongqing again. The hotel's location is truly exceptional. Below it are Raffles City Mall and Chaotianmen subway station, and the famous Hongyadong, a popular spot for social media check-ins, is within walking distance, making sightseeing, shopping, and dining incredibly convenient. The sky lobby on the 42nd floor and the Crystal Skybridge offer first-class views, with the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers and the city skyline opposite all visible. The night views of both banks, especially, are dazzling and captivating, a stark contrast to the daytime scenery. Standing on the 250-meter-high sky observation deck, with its fully transparent glass floor, I was too scared to look down, my legs feeling a bit wobbly – it was both terrifying and exhilarating. Although there was a minor hiccup with a room change, the front desk manager quickly resolved it. The room was spacious and bright, with wooden furniture and a light blue carpet, making it very elegant. The room also came with a welcome fruit platter, sparkling water, and local snacks. They even placed a pot of phalaenopsis orchids as I had hoped; the orchids stood gracefully, their flowers seeming to dance like butterflies, bringing a fresh fragrance and vibrant life to the room. The guest services lady had a very gentle and polite voice, and housekeeping was incredibly responsive to every request. When she learned I needed to hang clothes, she thoughtfully provided a trolley, which was very considerate. What attracted me the most, of course, was the executive lounge. The food was unforgettable, every dish exquisite and delicious, clearly made with great care. The service was also attentive and warm, with dishes cleared quickly and staff constantly paying attention to guests' dining needs. During breakfast, to ensure I didn't miss out on any delicacies, the executive lounge attendant even helped me retrieve egg tarts and baked egg pancakes from the Chonglin restaurant across the way. Later, due to a flight delay, they even arranged a late check-out for us, truly understanding guests' difficulties. In summary, we were extremely satisfied with this stay and look forward to our next visit.

This was my second visit to Chongqing, and I finally got to stay at the iconic InterContinental Raffles City. As soon as I arrived, the concierge took care of my luggage. The check-in lobby is on the 42nd floor, and the breakfast restaurant is in the connecting corridor – truly stunning design, elegant and magnificent. The Chinese restaurant serves high-quality, delicious Chinese food. The room design is classic, refined, and thoughtful, with comfortable bedding. Even the elevators have hand sanitizer and tissues, which is a great touch! From the design to the amenities, the views, and the service, everything was impeccable. Big thanks to the front desk for upgrading me to a 60th-floor room, offering views of both the river and the city. The hotel is located right above a large shopping mall, so all your dining, drinking, and entertainment needs are covered. The location is superb; you can even walk to Hongyadong. It’s definitely a must-stay hotel for a holiday or a memorable life experience.

I got a room upgrade after checking in, but the upgraded room wasn't great in terms of layout, and the view was partially blocked by a skybridge. The service was good and very welcoming. When I wasn't happy with my cocktail, they proactively asked for my preferences and made a new one. The food and drinks at the lounge were quite extensive, and the taste was decent.

The room was decent, though I still felt it was a bit small. There were no welcome fruits. Overall, it was acceptable and met the luxury expectations for this price point. However, the hotel's facilities and navigation were a bit confusing (it took me nearly 15 minutes to find the lobby from the basement the first time). The internet speed also had significant lag when gaming.

Staying at the InterContinental Raffles City was a great experience. The front desk staff were very welcoming and, seeing I was a member, kindly upgraded my room for free. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The bathroom was well-designed. I drew the curtains and had a wonderful night's sleep. I'm looking forward to staying on a higher floor next time! My only minor complaint is that the toothbrush wasn't very good.

The hotel boasts an excellent location with stunning views of the confluence of two rivers. It truly lives up to its reputation for luxury and sophistication. The staff are warm, attentive, and provide meticulous service. The lobby is elegant, spacious, clean, and bright. Our room was also spacious, bright, comfortable, and featured a well-designed wet and dry separation in the bathroom. The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious food. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Chongqing.
