Mountwell Executive Suites (Jiefangbei Hongyadong)

The room was spacious and bright, with all the amenities one could ask for, especially the washer and dryer which were incredibly useful. We could wash our clothes daily and never had to worry about sweat-soaked garments. Having a butler was also a great convenience. The lobby on the fifth floor had children's toys, and my child particularly enjoyed the twist car, although it later disappeared. This area could use better management. There was complimentary afternoon tea offered daily, but despite staying four nights, we only managed to enjoy it once as we weren't back at the hotel at other times. The room had an excellent view, especially our double-king room on the 40+ floor, offering stunning vistas of the Jialing River, Yangtze River, Yangtze River Cableway, several bridges, Nanshan, and Raffles City. Mineral water and Tianfu Cola were amply stocked. The shower spray, however, was a bit weak and soft, making showering a bit of an effort.

Facilities: Very complete and comfortable. Cleanliness: Spotless. Environment: Very comfortable. Service: Very responsive. Any requests made to the front desk were met with quick replies. Food delivery was also very fast.

The hotel reception is on the fifth floor. On my first visit, I had to ask the security guard on the ground floor to open the gate. After that, I could use my room card to enter. The two reception desks on the ground floor belong to other hotels. The room was spacious and even had cooking and laundry facilities, making me feel like it was a converted apartment. However, the shower and toilet areas were quite small. The front desk added me on WeChat, and their name indicated that if I extended my stay, cleaning would be done before 7 PM. One afternoon, it was too hot, so I returned to my room and found that someone had been there, opened a window, but hadn't cleaned or emptied the trash. When I came back in the evening, the trash had been taken out, but it wasn't a thorough cleaning. It took a while for the hot water to come on, and the pipes made a vibrating noise. The complimentary afternoon tea was fantastic, especially given the good location – perfect for a midday break to rehydrate and refuel. Breakfast was also excellent, and around 8 AM, there were very few people. Is it because there are more foreign guests? The pea noodles at breakfast were the best; even though I usually don't like noodles for breakfast, I ate them for two days straight.

Returning from our cruise, we seamlessly continued our trip in Chongqing. Our family of six booked two adjoining two-bedroom suites at the Shanqi Hotel for five nights, and our stay was incredibly satisfying – definitely a five-star review! 📍Location The location is impeccable. It's within walking distance of Jiefangbei, and downstairs there's a dazzling array of restaurants and snacks. Right across the street is the Air-raid Shelter Hotpot, and there are dozens of massage and spa places nearby, making dining and shopping extremely convenient. Calling a business car at the entrance is also super easy; one arrives within a minute. For larger groups, the 831 bus stop is right across the street, taking you directly to Chaotianmen in just two stops, making group travel stress-free. 🛏️Room Facilities The hotel has the feel of an old five-star establishment, with a stylish overall ambiance. The projector and large screen are great for watching movies and playing games. The room's view exceeded our expectations; the large floor-to-ceiling windows are definitely a highlight, offering beautiful city views on one side and river views on the other – stunning! Enjoying a cup of tea by the window at night, soaking in Chongqing's beauty, was wonderful. The space is spacious and even comes with a washing machine, which perfectly meets the needs of family travel, especially for families like ours who need to do laundry mid-trip. The bath towels and towels are of excellent quality, showing great attention to detail, and the living experience was superb. 🍳Breakfast The buffet breakfast offers a rich variety of options, both Chinese and Western, which was very practical for our family, including elderly and young members. 💁Service The front desk and the personal butler service were exceptionally attentive. Requests were usually answered instantly, and they were always ready to help. All staff members were warm and friendly. Housekeeping changed the floor mats and bath towels daily and warmly asked if we were enjoying our trip. Food deliveries were personally brought to our room by the butler and the front desk staff – very thoughtful! A small suggestion for the hotel would be to add delivery robots to ease the burden on the staff. Overall, the environment, service, and amenities were all top-notch. Our family felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. We will definitely choose this hotel again when we return to Jiefangbei, and I sincerely recommend it to friends traveling to Chongqing!
